Ladybug and Robin flew across town, trying to reach the noise as fast as possible. The evil cackle came first. Then they saw him, Batman lying unconscious on the ground. Robin's eyes widened and he raced to his side, falling to his knees next to him.

"Bruce, Bruce!" He yelled. Bruce remained still. Ladybug ran next to him and felt his heartbeat. "He's still alive," she whispered.

"He won't be when I'm done with you pesky little kids."

Robin and Ladybug turned to face the voice: it was the Joker. Robin had told Ladybug about him a couple of times and so had Bruce. She knew that he always smiled. That he was crazy. And that he and Batman were arch enemies.

"You know, he was always a weakling. I don't know how you put up with him." Joker sneered. "He took care of me," Robin said defensively.

"Oh, dear old Bruce Wayne took me in and loved me, and now he can't even give his old friend a fair fight," Joker said in a mocking baby voice.

That's when the attacking started. Punches were thrown left and right, along with kicks and hits and little smack talk here and there.

Robin was furious that Joker had offended his guardian, Ladybug could see it on his face when he had said it. Ladybug joined in the fight, using her yo-yo to hit Joker.

That obviously made him mad, and he smiled. He lunged at her and held his dagger in his hand, trying to land a cut on her.

"Don't touch her!" Robin screamed.

"Oh? Is it because you love her?" Joker made kissing noises and Robin lunged at him.

"Two against one seems pretty uneven, don't you think? Though I guess you are weak, so I will give you that." Joker snickered. Ladybug and Robin attacked and attacked, barely hitting him, but getting hit themselves.

"Lucky Charm!" She called out. It was a pencil. Really? Ladybug thought. What was she gonna do with this?

Dodging a strike from the knife, Ladybug threw the pencil at Joker, unsure of what she was supposed to do with it.

She fell unconscious to the ground.

"Marinette. . .Marinette. . .MARINETTE." Damian gently shook her awake. Marinette's eyes fluttered open.

Damian let out a sigh of relief when she woke up. Wait, Damian? Where. . .where's your mask?" She struggled to say. "It fell off, party because of Joker, partly because of me."Marinette looked at herself and noticed she wasn't in her suit. "Joker knocked you unconscious and your Ladybug timer ran out."

She frantically looked around and saw Tikki lying on the floor. She went over and picked her up. Tikki opened her eyes. "Tikki! I'm so glad to see you're ok."

"Me? I'm glad to see you're ok!" Marinette turned to and Damian and let Tikki eat a cookie.

"Did he. . ." she began. Damian nodded. "I tried following him, but he was just. . .gone." Marinette's eyes widened. She had spotted something on Damian's cheek. Running over to him, she gently put her hand on it, seeing the cut run from just below his eye to his jaw.

"Oh Damian. . ." she whispered. The gesture had caught Damian off guard. "It's only a small cut. . ." he said, trying to reassure her. Damian gently put his hand on top of Marinette's hand and kissed it. Now it was Marinette's turn to be taken off guard.

Damian put his free hand on the back of Marinette's head and leaned in. Both closing their eyes, they let their lips meet one another.
