The fire

The next day (because i'm very lazy with writing in-betweens and not very creative with fill-ins lol ;P) Marinette woke to the sound of a blaring alarm. Everyone did. Marinette immediately jumped out of bed and ran to the living room to see what was going on.

All of the girls in the orphanage had gathered together and were talking amongst themselves, practically yelling at each other because of the alarm. Madame Bustier came running into the room and ushered the girl outside with her hands over her ears.

"Get out of the building, now!" She yelled, trying to make herself heard with all of the commotion. Madame Bustier called the fire department, plugging her other ear so she could hear the man on the other side of the phone.

The girls were starting to panic. What were they going to do? They thought that this was the end, the end of their short teenage lives.

"Shut up!" Marinette yelled at everyone. Even Madame Bustier was surprised by her sudden outburst. "If we all keep overreacting and being loud, we won't know what'll happen! So just calm down and everything is going to be fine. We all got out safely, and that's what counts."

"But the orphanage!"

"My room!"

"My socks!"

"My bed!"

Everyone started shouting things that were valuable to them. Marinette sighed. She hated to admit it but, these girls would never survive on their own when they were older.

The fire department came around 5 minutes later, dousing the fire that had consumed almost half of the orphanage. Luckily, it had only destroyed the spare bedrooms, the big materials closet, and half of the kitchen. Things would be able to be repaired.

The girls were relieved, and Madame Bustier told them that she was quite disappointed in their behavior. The girls were sorry they hadn't listened to Marinette and apologized. Marinette, being the nice girl she was, forgave them.

The girls immediately started helping out with repairing the damage, tossing charred and destroyed parts of the building away.

By the end of the day, they had most of the stuff cleared away, but it still looked like a mess. The girls and Madame Bustier knew it would take a while to fix all of this.
