It wasn't even two hours later that the good news they had been waiting for finally came. It came from an unlikely source – Jax's ex-wife and Abel's biological mother, Wendy Chase. Tara had tried to rope her into her crazy, and Wendy was having none of it. She had gone directly to Jax with the location of Tara's hideout.

"You're going too?" Avery asked as Opie put his favorite handgun in the waistband of his pants. He had only been back at the clubhouse for a few minutes, and he was rushing around like everyone else.

"They're family, baby, of course, I am." He dropped a kiss to her lips as she stood in the doorway of their dorm. "I'll be safe, I promise."

"You better be," she warned. Opie was going. Jax was going. So was her dad, her older brother, and Jason. Half of the people she cared about were walking into an unknown danger as they attempted to free her sister, cousin, and nephew. "Just make sure everyone comes home safe."

"Promise, baby girl." He kissed her one more time. "Go downstairs with your mom and Gemma. I don't want you alone while I'm gone. I love you, Avery."

"I love you too, Opie."

"Is that her?" Avery asked Gemma as she sat at a bar table in the clubhouse with her, Sam, and her mom. She was referring to the pretty brunette sitting alone on the other side of the room. She was dressed like the Summer of Love had never ended, and she appeared to be nervous. "Is she okay?"

Gemma handed Abel his Leappad and had him put on his headphones before she answered. "Wendy carries a lot of guilt now that she's sober and found Jesus. Believe it or not, she's also worried about Kristina. Just because she wasn't cut out for motherhood doesn't mean that she doesn't love Abel. Jax said she was pissed that Abel watched his mom and brother get taken."

"You know," Sam spoke up. "I don't think Kristina would have a problem with her saying his to Abel."

"Yeah," her mom agreed. "As long as she doesn't say anything to confuse him, Krissy would be more than fine with it."

"We wouldn't know where they were if it hadn't have been for her doing the right thing," Avery couldn't help but agree. "She's kind of earned it at this point."

"I'll go and talk to her," Gemma got to her feet.

As Gemma departed the table, Avery's phone vibrated on the table. With a shaking hand, she opened the text message that Opie had just sent her.

*** Everyone's safe. The problem's been solved. Be home soon. I love you. ***

"Oh, thank you, God." Avery started to sob; she was so relieved as she passed the phone to her mom so she and Sam could read the good news.
