Opie couldn't believe it. Jax had killed Tara without thinking twice about it. Not that he blamed him, of course. The crazy bitch had attacked his family. There was nothing and no one more important to Jax than Kristina and their boys – not the club, money – nothing. Opie understood that because that was exactly how he felt about Avery and the twins. Still, the Jax he had known in high school wouldn't have had the stones to pull the trigger. In a really fucking morbid way, Opie was kind of proud of his best friend.

"Daddy, where's Molly?" Avery came up to his side as he sat nursing a beer at the clubhouse bar.

Opie didn't have a chance to respond because her older brother, Morgan, whom she hadn't noticed was sitting on the stool beside him, beat him to it. "Molly and Happy wanted to be alone for a while, so they went home." He got to his feet with his drink in his hand. "Now, please excuse me while I go somewhere else and drink until I forget that I just heard you call your husband daddy."

Opie had expected Avery to be embarrassed, maybe blush a little. That's not what happened. Instead, she had gleefully laughed at her brother's discomfort. "You're just jealous that I've gotten laid more times this year than you have." She smirked and rubbed her stomach. "Actually, everyone but Joss has gotten laid more this year than you have."

Morgan's mouth dropped open for a second before he turned his back on the both of them. "Yep, I am getting very drunk tonight," he spoke to himself as he walked away.

"Baby girl, that was mean." He wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her to his side.

"It's a sibling thing. That's not even the worst thing I've said to Morgan this week." She laughed and kissed him. "Jax and Kristina want to be alone too, so I was hoping we could actually go home tonight." It had been a few days. "Plus, I want to avoid my mom for a few days."

Opie got to his feet and waved Juice over for a minute.

"What's up, man?"

"Me and Avery are taking off. You wanna help me load my bike in the back of my truck?" Avery obviously couldn't ride in her condition.

"Don't worry about it. I'll get a couple prospects to do it." Juice assured him before heading outside.

Opie turned his attention back to his wife, wrapping her up in his arms...well, at least as much as he could with her fast-expanding belly. "Do I want to know why you're avoiding your mom?" The Corinthos clan was a close-knit but temperamental family. It got hard at times to remember who was avoiding who and why.

Avery good-naturedly rolled her eyes. "Now that she isn't freaking out about kidnappings, she's back to talking about throwing us a belated wedding reception."

Opie visibly cringed. He and Avery weren't the type of people who liked the spotlight on their relationship in any way. They were too private for that.

"Yeah," Avery nodded when she saw him cringe. "I'm contemplating faking our deaths to get out of it."

Opie ended up laughing so hard that people in the parking lot heard him.
