Avery had a gut feeling that something was going to go wrong as she stood in the clubhouse bar watching the men head out to deal with Clay once and for all.

"Do you all think this is really the end of all this?" Avery asked her fellow old ladies and assorted family members. Everyone, save for Sam, who had gone with the guys, was at the clubhouse. For safety, it had been decided that everyone should gather in one secure location. No one was going to forget Kristina, Molly, and Thomas's kidnappings anytime soon.

"I sure as hell hope so," Kristina replied as they all found seats in the bar area. "I'm pretty sure Abel thinks we live here now. And Thomas has spent more nights here than at home in his short life."

"The way it's been going, I was starting to worry that I was going to have to give birth here," Avery couldn't help but snark.

About an hour later, Gemma got to her feet as the group was finishing off a hand of rummy.

"Where are you going, Gem?" Avery's mom, Carly, inquired.

I'm just gonna step outside to smoke." Gemma dug through her purse and pulled out a joint. "Didn't want to give anyone a contact high."

If Avery hadn't been pregnant and in the company of her overprotective mother, she probably would have followed Gemma outside because her nerves were entirely shot to hell waiting for word from the guys.

Almost on cue, Avery's phone rang just as the door closed behind Gemma. It was Opie.

"Hello?" She answered as Molly, Kristina, and her mom's phone all started ringing.

"Baby, are you all still inside the clubhouse?"

"Every but Gemma. Why?"

"Have someone go and get Gemma inside right now," he urged her.

"Joss, go and tell Gemma that she needs to come inside," Avery instructed her younger teenage sister.

"Molly just went to get her," Carly spoke up.

"Molly's getting her," Avery told her husband. "Babe, you're scaring me. What the hell's going on?"

"Marks sent one of his lackeys, and Clay was nowhere to be seen. Something's up."

Avery knew everything had seemed way too easy. "Were the Mayans in on it?"

"No, they're fucking pissed too. Alvarez has some guys from the Mayans Santo Padre charter closer to the clubhouse than we are. They're gonna stand guard until we get there. We're heading your way now. I love you."

"I love you too."

Avery had just disconnected the call as Molly came running back into the bar. "I can't find Gemma!"

Avery's heart sank. Not again!
