Chapter 4: Familiar Faces

It's the morning after their competition in the water and they are all awake except for Kie. They are all laughing at her putting sticks in her hair as she lays their peacefully in her own world.

JJ was hoping that she wasn't having the dumb nightmare her brain is keeping on repeat for her. He hates that she's going through it every single night. While the only thing on his mind is her. While she is struggling to sleep each night he is in pure bliss as all of his dreams recently have been him and her. Especially last night. Which may have ended with a kiss.

Suddenly Kie wakes up in a panic everyone turns around at her confused. JJ is the only one who understands what's going on. Kie puts her hand through her hair ruffling up a bit trying to wake herself up back to the present and not the past. She sits up and looks at the stick lying next to her that had just fallen out of hair.

"Seriously?" She glares at all of them

"Well you know you were sleeping so peacefully so we just ya know wanted to annoy you for when you were gonna wake up" Sarah said giggling

"Idiots" she said lying back down

They thought she was sleeping peacefully. How wrong they were.

"Hey Kie?" Cleo ask bending down to her level

"yeah" she says sitting back up

"Where's your pogue bracelet?" Cleo says pointing at her wrist

Kie looks down to her bear wrist

"SHIT, SHIT" she gets up in a panic looking around were she was lying down and it's not there. JJ walks over and starts to help.

"I-I'm gonna go look for it, it must've fallen off when we went looking for food" Kie said as she turned to JJ

"Ok let's go" he says pulling her up

"Nah you stay I'll go" Cleo says as she follows Kie

JJ stops and looks at the 2 of them walking away getting smaller and smaller.

"Ok?" JJ said suspiciously.

"Well that was weird" he says as he turns back to the rest of the group with his hand scratching the back of his neck

Kie and Cleo walk over to where they found the watermelons. Kie bends down looking all around trying to find her bracelet when a hand goes over her mouth pulling her backwards.

Kie confusingly looks around a sees Cleo smirking at her.

"you'd do best to keep quite pretty girl" A familiar voice speaks

She throws her elbow into the unknown figures ribs and turned around,

"WHAT THE FUCK" she yells as the unknown figure becomes recognised and it's a familiar face.

Then she feels a cold, sharp, metal object at her neck. She turns to Cleo with her knife at Kie. Luke then grabs her in a headlock which she then throws her hands in the air as if she's surrendering.

"Look I'm sorry Kie I really needed the money."

Luke laughs at what is standing in front of him. He can feel her beating as fast as it ever has before.

Kie looks Cleo up and down. "traitor."

"Enough chit chat ladies. Cleo go back to the group and carry out the rest of the plan if you want your cut" Luke demands
