6 am the next morning

The Vincent Household

“Jacky, have you got everything,” I asked my husband as I checked all of our chargers and Cass’s things were packed up. Jacky was running around the house checking all the appliances were off.

“Yeah, have you got Cass’s laptop?” Jacky asked.

“Yeah,” I answered, taking the luggage to the front door and taking a seat next to my husband on the sofa.

He pulled me to his chest and kissed my head. This was probably the only time we’d be able to spend together for the next few months. Cass stayed at Becky and Ryan’s last night, because Becky thought Jacky and I could use a break. Thank you Becky. This years Warped should be good, my band are playing Main Stage, Falling In Reverse are playing Main Stage, we’re sharing a bus. Everything should be great.

The doorbell ringing brought me from my thoughts. I kissed Jacky and made my way to the door.

I opened it to be face with my rhythm guitarist Nick, who was sporting some rather feminine sunglasses and holding his head.

“Hello?” I questioned my band mate.

“Shut up Alex, I’m hungover and need some fucking painkillers, you got any?” Nick said pulling his hand down my face. Freak.

“Talk to me like that again Nicholas Pablo White and you’ll be eating your male parts for breakfast and yes I do, would you like some?” I scolded the idiot in front of me. Who in their right mind would go clubbing in the early hours of the morning, just to go to bed and have to get up 5 minutes later to go on tour? Nick White that’s who. How Jenna puts up with him I don’t know, she’s a brave woman.

Nick nodded.

I ran to the kitchen as Jacky pulled his jacket on and began to take our things to the bus with the delightful Patty, who was standing behind Nick throughout our conversation.

“Here,” I handed Nick the painkillers and a bottle of water. With that done he walked to the bus.

I set the alarm and locked the door and followed, Patty and my husband onto the bus. I wasn’t sure which bands were going on Warped this year, but I knew Twin Atlantic were, thanks to Elleigh constantly phoning me to tell me she was hijacking my bus just so that she didn’t have to share a bus with Ross and Barry.

“Everyone, go and get some sleep, FIR you play at 5pm, AD you play at 7. Any questions? No. Good,” Our manager Sean said. Yes as in my best friend Sean Smith. After The Blackout broke up Sean became the manager of Amongst Destiny. I laughed at him as he left the bus to use the second bus we had for instruments, our tech guys, merch people and Falling In Reverse’s manger.

The boys all went to choose bunks and sleep. No-doubt Jacky will have put our things in a bunk and will be sitting at the top of the stairs waiting for me.

“Hey Becky, where’s Cass?” I questioned.

“Upper back lounge,” Becky answered. Just like her mother.

I walked up the stairs and as I predicted Jacky was sat at the top.

“Where’s Cass?” He asked.

“Back lounge,” I said taking his hand in mine and walked through the door to where my daughter was sitting with a blanket around her watching Frozen, on Ryan’s lap.

“Thanks Ryan,” I said when he saw us standing at the door. He smiled and moved Cass off his lap.

“Ryan where are you going?” She asked.
