~Cameron~
Tonight wasn't actually that bad. The only thing that was missing from my happiness is Jade. I don't know what has gotten in to me but I couldn't get her out of my mind. Ok, well, maybe I do kind of like her but I can't. I just met her. Maybe it's love at first sight? But I'm too old for her and I'm out of her league. She deserves a guy who is her age, who can make her feel special and a guy who will treat her like a queen. Not just a princess but a queen. I'll try my hardest to not fall for her even though it will be painful. But I have to, for my own sake.
Waking up in the middle of the night was not my kind of thing. I got up from the bed and walked out of the room. I walked in the kitchen and to the refrigerator. I grabbed the milk and a glass. I poured the milk down to the glass then I saw a light through the living room window. I rest the milk down to the counter and walked towards the door. I opened the door and walked outside. Jade walked out of her turquoise colored truck and she stumbled to walk to her house. I ran across the street and just in time, her legs collapsed and she fell. I caught her in my arms.
"Cameron," she moaned, trying to get off of my grip and I smelt a beer scent coming out from her mouth.
"Did you drink?" I asked her, as I picked her up bridal style.
"No," she replied, sleepily.
"Jade, why would you drink?" I said to her. "I thought you were out with your friend."
"I don't have a friend ok," she slightly yelled. "I didn't have one. Sidney is just a name I made up so I could I get out of the house."
"Why would you do that?" I asked while I walked down to their porch and sit down to their swinging couch with her on my lap.
"Because I don't want to get hurt," she replied and a tear slipped down under her eyes.
"Why would anyone hurt you?" I asked, worried. "And you think drinking can solve it?"
"What am I supposed to do?" she cried. "I have no one to go to. I don't have anyone to cry on. I don't have anyone to ask for an advice. I have no one to trust. Even my dad doesn't have time for me. He's either always with his slutty girlfriend or at his work. We never hang out like we used to anymore and I missed it. Cooking together tonight is actually the first time we hung out after a long time."
"You can always trust me," I said while I rubbed her back for comfort. "You can always come to me when you need help."
"I barely know you Cam," she replied, turning to look at me, her brown eyes is red and glossy. "I just met you."
"I'll do anything to make you trust me," I responded, cupping her face with my hands and wiping her tears away with my thumb.
"You should go," she said, standing up away from my lap but as usual, she fell but I caught her again.
"I'm not going anywhere until I know you're in your bedroom, sleeping," I told her, picking her up bridal style and she nodded her head.
"Go to the backdoor," she suggested, burning her head against my chest. "The front door is locked but the back door is always open."
I nodded my head and walked to their backyard. She helped me open the back door. I walked in to their kitchen and slightly closed the door with my foot. I slyly walked out the kitchen and up the stairs.
"The first door on the right is mine," she whispered and I nodded my head.
She again helped me open her room and I quietly entered it. A dim of the lights outside is bright enough to see her room. Messy but not that much. I walked her down to her bed and laid her there. I was about to go out until I felt a hand on mine, sending tingles up to my spine. I turned around to see her sleeping with her hand holding my hand.
"Please stay," she whispered, her eyes still closed.
I walked back to her bed and laid down beside her. Her back against my chest. I used my other hand to pull up the bed sheets to cover us. I wrap my arms around her waist and I gently kissed her temples. I rested my head on her pillow and slowly fall back to sleep.
-----
I woke up some time in the morning when I heard someone barfing in the bathroom. Then I remembered. Jade was drunk. I opened my eyes and Jade was not on the bed. I got up and quickly walked on her bathroom to see her sitting in front of the toilet, puking. I walked up towards her and kneeled down beside her. I rested my hand on her back and she began to barf again but nothing was coming out.
"I think that's enough, Jade," I said, and I helped her stand up.
She nodded her head and walked to the sink. I handed her the toothbrush and she brushed her teeth while I flushed the toilet. She finished brushing her teeth and she started walking out of the bathroom. I walked beside her and helped her walk. She laid down on her bed and I followed her. I laid down next to her and she moved closer to me. I wrapped my arm around her as she rested her head on my shoulder.
"You know you didn't have to stay for the night," she weakly said, resting her hand on my chest.
"You were holding my hand and said to stay over so I couldn't resist," I replied, combing her soft long hair.
"Thank you," she whispered.
"Anything for you," I responded and she fell right back to sleep.
