It had been extremely rough for the oldest Maximoff sister, having to provide for herself as well as Pietro and Wanda ( Pietro tended to steal to get by so most of what Nadia made had gone to her sister. ) She had found herself distracting herself from the trauma she had seen and was currently dealing with as a way to grieve her parents and her old life.

After hiding underneath the bed for two days, wondering if the shell would ever go off, they were rescued and ended up in an orphanage where Nadia refused for the three of them to be separated away from each other.

Nadia knew it was wrong to volunteer to join Hydra for experimentation but she had gone this long without being torn away from her siblings therefore she was not about to start now.

The heavy metal door swung open as she cautiously ambled into the experimentation room. A glowing blue scepter was humming and as Nadia drew closer to it, the louder it became. A Hydra scientist spoke over the intercom, startling the woman with a little jump as she looked to the glass mirror that showed her her reflection. "For our notes, Miss Maximoff, can you please state your name and confirm your status?"

Nadia tucked a loose strand of dark brown hair that had escaped from her low pony tail behind her ear and with a shaky voice she answered the scientist behind the mirror. "Nadia Maximoff. I'm a volunteer."

"Touch the sample," she was instructed and she nervously made her way over to the scepter. The more and more closer Nadia got to the scepter, the rattling from it became louder and made it ring loudly in her ears. The stone sprung out of the scepter and floated over to Nadia and she instinctively held up her arm and had her delicate fingers lightly graze the stone with its blue mist. Once she came in contact with the stone, it turned a bright yellow. It was so bright that Nadia had to squint her eyes shut and a wind had picked up in the experimentation room, her bland gray dress swishing around her.

When Nadia opened her eyes fully, she saw something that she had never seen before and right as she started to make out little things, the vision ended. Nadia flew down and she passed out on the floor of the dingy room.

After Nadia had been dragged into isolation for the fear that she might hurt someone or herself, she had just woken up from being knocked out. She was locked up behind glass in a cell all by herself. She didn't know where Wanda and Pietro were and nobody would tell her a thing except when she got so angry that her eyes turned a bright, electric blue.

So now, her siblings were in neighboring cells after discovering that the mind stone had given the three Maximoff siblings powers and everyone was curious as to why these three were the only survivors of the experiments conducted by Strucker. Nadia sat on the floor of her cell against one of the cement walls and held one of her hands up. A blue mist surrounded her hand and as she twitched her fingers around, the blue energy danced around her hand.

"The survivors?" Doctor List asked Strucker as they looked on to watch the three Maximoff siblings, who were contained in separate cells.

Strucker had an almost sinister smirk to his lips as he noticed the three survivors getting used to their new abilities from the mind stone. "The twins and Nadia," he breathed out in wonderment from his creations. "Sooner or later we will need the twins and Nadia. It's not a world of spies anymore. Not even a world of heroes. This is the age of miracles, doctor. There's nothing more horrifying than a miracle."

Nadia held up her other hand and willed her blue colored psionic energy to appear. She moved her arms closer to form one energy ball and she heard the little noises her magic made and grinned. She tossed her arms forward to the cell bars, sending her energy at the glass containing her. The sound of the explosion alerted the people outside of the cells as Nadia's magic disintegrated the glass after it broke into a million little pieces with alarms blaring loudly around her.
