For the rest of the meeting, Theodore seemed like he was inside his head. He only looked forward, responded with short answers, and quickly left to I-don't-even-know-where after it ended.
My gut feeling is telling me that it has something to do with the damn description he read, like how can a description, not even the picture, affect him so much?
But then again, who am I to judge?
It's currently around 2:30 PM and I'm back at my office with Levi. He came around one hour ago after he ate his meal and just thinking about food my stomach grumbles again.
"Dude, go eat, you sound like a whale." Levi insisted from the chair next to me, annoyed that he has to repeat himself so much.
We are currently seated beside each other, an extra chair located at my desk. Today is a really beautiful day with a blue sky and fresh wind. The windows of my office are opened so that the air flows in and out, leaving behind the autumn scent.
"I'm going." I groaned standing up but continued typing away the email. The computer is snatched away by Levi, giving me a dirty look when I try to take it back.
"Ugh, fine. Send that email at least." I grunted, putting on my heels and taking the jacket in my hands.
"Done, and if you could please grab a cookie for me on the way back, please," Levi begged with puppy eyes, as he placed the computer back in its place. I respond with a small 'sure' and begin my way towards the kitchen.
While walking, I think back on what happened this morning, and no, not Theodore's reaction. I'm talking about that card that magically turned to ashes right in front of me. It made me wonder in dread and curiosity who would send me that type of card.
I mean, it wasn't a threat, but it wasn't a "Hope you get better" or an "I love you" type of card.
The fact that it burned after signaled that it had some magic on it. Now my mental debate is whether I should tell Louis or not about it. However, for the time being, I'm going to keep it to myself.
I get to the packed kitchen, where many people are eating, chattering, laughing, and some even leaving. I make my way towards my table, people bowing and saying 'good afternoon' as I walk. But before I got to my seat, three of the women who I saw yesterday night came up to me.
"Excuse us, Your Majesty, but we arranged a patio lunch at the gazebo for you this afternoon." One says, excitement lanced on her words.
"Oh, thank you, I really appreciate it," I replied kindly, surprised by this sudden gesture.
"But first, could you please change your attire for the occasion?" Another says holding a dress bag, the three with a hopeful expression.
Huh?
"What is wrong with my outfit? Oh Gosh, do I have a stain?!" I said in a hushed tone towards them, thinking that my period came earlier.
"Oh no no, your outfit is amazing, My Queen, and no, you don't have any stains." Another one assures me.
"But this is more fitting for the occasion. Trust me, Your Majesty, you will look more gorgeous than you already are with this dress." The first one says almost pleading that I get in the dress.
People around started to look at us, wondering what kind of conversion we are having in the middle of the kitchen with a dress bag involved.
"Okay, I will put it on, but could you at least tell me why I'm changing?" I insisted, wanting to know what the heck I'm getting myself into.
