Theodore chooses to drive to the unknown place instead of calling one of our drivers, saying that he doesn't want people hearing our business plans. I refused multiple times, imagining myself having to carry a 6'4 man inside a car and having to drive back to the castle all alone. However, he insisted and I didn't want him to suspect anything.
So here we are, in awkward silence on the way to God knows where, while the sun is setting.
Theodore gives me another side look, the fifth one to be exact, as I try to ignore it by looking outside the window.
Getting tired of it, I say "Spill it."
"Spill what?" His deep voice spoke through the car
"Whatever you want to say. You've been looking at me and it's making me go insane." I explain, looking at his profile.
"I don't want to say anything."
"Then, stop looking at me."
After a few moments of silence, he makes a turn and we arrive at what looks like an empty restaurant parking lot, only a black van at the back of it. He told me to wait inside as he walked around the car while buttoning his suit.
Opening the door for me, he offered his hand for me to hold and I took it.
Holding his warm hand was such an unfamiliar feeling, a feeling that my body longed to keep around.
"That van is for the Royal Guards, that way we can continue with our evening at peace with no interruptions," Theodore explained as he saw me eyeing the car.
"Oh okay." and with that, he walked towards the restaurant, where a young man waited for us with an opened door.
Seeing that the restaurant was empty made my nerves calm down a bit.
Being a Queen means that you should always show your good and correct side to people so that rumors won't spread and people don't go against you. That's why I've always preferred to do everything inside the Castle, even if I don't have any bad personality trait to hide.
Well, only my bad relationship with alcohol, but who cares.
We get to the terrace of the restaurant, which is decorated with fairy lights and some ambiance candles. The autumn wind hits my skin, welcoming me with its almost cold tone.
We sat down as a waiter served us the finest wine from the Kingdom's vineyard, my favorite for the nights where I wanted to cry.
Happy times.
"So, you like the place?" Theodore said while circling the glass.
"I actually don't like it," I say, in a serious tone.
Theodore stops moving the glass and looks up with slightly wide eyes. The wind is slightly moving his hair while the candlelight makes his skin and green eyes glow.
Cute.
Negativo! Not cute!
"I'm joking, I find it very lovely, I just wanted to see your reaction." I finally say with a chuckle.
"Ah got it, the Queen showing her fine manners by joking around. What a way to get to know you." Theodore replies, amused.
"So, that is the reason for our date? Get to know me?" I retorted, caught him off guard.
"Well, that and business, obviously." He clears his throat, looking into my eyes.
"Right, business is never left behind.", taking a sip of my wine.
