Chapter 68: Escape with me

-Amethyst Sandiego’s POINT VIEW-

“A game of Intelligence?” Sabi ni Hemera.
“I’m not interested.” Ace Refused.
“Oh, well. Your Declinations only proved me the smartest in this University.” I crossed my legs and assisted my chin with my index finger.
“That’s not a smart thing to say, Amethyst.”
“Who even asks smart students to compete with a kid like you?” Ace said. Err! Minamaliit talaga nila ako dahil lang sa height ko!
I placed a briefcase on the glass table at binuksan ito. I took out three cubes and placed them in the center.
“8x4 triangular rubiks cube?” Tanong ni Hemera.
“You’re right, and you’re wrong. That’s 8x4 but it’s not a Rubiks Cube.” I said.
“What in the world is that?” Tanong ni Ace.
I took a cube and rotated a part and intersected it with the other parts.
“A Game of Intelligence, Ace.” I said.
Oh they wont know this. I created these cubes myself and they will never have a chance to figure these out. It’s rotating and intertwinding and Intersecting and moving like a rubiks cube, but the whole is Cube at walo ang triangle na naka-arrange dito, six shapes are moveable and the remaining two is the base wich you cant rotate or move, each shape consisted different kinds of riddles. If one solves the riddles, they might have a chance to deal with the remaining triangles.
Kumuha sila ng tig-iisang cube at sinimulan na itong masdan.
“Alright, since your fingerprints marked my cubes, we will begin the game.” I said to them.
“Tss. You call this a game? Seryoso na ata ang pagka-loner mo.” Ace commented.
Hindi ko ito pinansin, Hemera rotated a part and it made a small ‘TING’ sound. I bet she found a riddle already!
“All things can move, but the hands of the clock runs from the top to the bottom and then repeats endlessly.” Hemera read it.
“The hell is that? A statement?” Ace said. Hemera rotated another part at binasa ito.
“Without it, Photosynthesis is not possible.”
“What could be better than enjoying it? Besides, we wouldnt exist without it.”
Pagbabasa nya pa. teka, I think I wont be able to give them a clue dahil parang nakalimutan ko ang sagot dyan, she might solve all of them one by one para masagot ko.
“That’s a riddle.” Ani Ace.
“I think.”
“It is a riddle. Those triangular shapes in the cube consist of riddles.” I said.
“What’s the point of the riddles? Atsaka, ‘the hands of the clock runs from the top to the bottom and then repeats endlessly’? It couldn’t be sinking nor drowning. Pumping or something?” Random guess ni hemera.
“Try one more, I know you guys are smart-asses! Try giving it some efforts!” Sabi ko sa dalawa. They’re looking at me as if I was wasting their times!
“Without it, photosynthesis is not possible. Water? Air? Sunlight?”
“The plant, maybe.”
“Amethyst, this is a waste of time, whatever game you want to play, I’m pretty sure we’re solving this in the future anyway, sagutin mo nalang kasi, whatever this is.” Ace complains. Are they seriously telling me that I’m not worth-a-while?!
“Oh sure. But if I get your interesests, I’ll give you two something more interesting.” That’s a fair deal. Sakanila lang din naman mapupunta ang benefits!
“Okay.”
I took the puzzle from Hemera at tinignan lahat ng Riddles. The remaining ones are; 1.) Would you rather fry yourself in the desert, or fry yourself in the tropical?, 2.) You can charge a battery, but you dont plug it to anything, 3.) The moon is still better, 4.) You can sleep through the day, but why is the moon still shining?, 5.) It might be any chemicals, or minerals or any substance, but it has a massive shape and it kills Germs and Viruses. Now I remember.
Binasa ko ang bawat riddle and gave them correct answers, the first one is Tropical, the light is soothing and better there. Second is Solar Charging, you place something facing the sun’s heat at di na kailangan ng electricity para mag charge. Fourth, it’s the sun, the light of the day. Fifth, it’s the sun aswell, it is massive and it’s heat can kill germs and viruses.
“You should name this game ‘The Game of Riddles’ heh.” Sabi ni Hemera.
“So what if you solve the riddles? It doesn’t even make a bit of sense.” Ace said.
“All the riddles are about the SUN, naïve man. The answer is SUN.” Sabi ko at pumunta sa bottom part ng cube where the triangles are impossible to move. I used my nails to fit the space between the two triangles at bumukas ang cube. Kinuha ko ang laman nito, a realistic replica of the sun about 3 inches small. It still glows though.
“Is that a sun?”
“A replica.” I said.
“much more than a replica, I bet that produces heat since it’s glowing.” Ace said.
“Did I get your interests? I made this cubes, this sun and the riddles. This sun emits orange light from luminous chemical I placed inside, but as the light gets distributed throughout the space, it creates a paler color which is yellow.” Sabi ko sakanila.
“The sun got my interests.” Sabi ni Hemera.
“Eh, isn’t that a science project on Junior Highschool?” sabi ni Ace. Err!
“No! this is 30% tech, the ball is made out of clear glass, I carved and painted them and realistified the solar flares with Microglow pieces. This took my whole childhood to complete.” Sabi ko sa dalawa.
“Well, that’s interesting.” Sabi ni Ace. Yess!
“A little. Now that we got interested, give us something more interesting.” Sabi ni Hemera. Ohh yes there it is.

What am I doing here again?
Tama. Shane told me to wait in this un-occupied creepy looking abandoned building, BUT ALL PERSON I SEE HERE, IS JAMES! And what the hell is he doing here?!
“What are you doing here?” Tanong nito.
“No, what are you doing here?!”
“Ace lured me here.” Sagot nya.
“Shane made me wait.” Sabi ko rin.
“Tss.” Sabi nya at binuksan ang glass door ng Building. The whole building was abandoned at halos walang ni-isang estudyante ang mahahagilap namin, the floors were slightly cracked, bullets pierced on the wall and the glass doors are stained with something red, might be dry blood.
I don’t know what I was thinking kaya sumunod nalang ako kay James.
He was checking the whole area, at dahil ma-aga pa, the building is still well-sought at ang sa loob nito.
I stepped on the carpet at biglang sumara ang glass door, then a creaking metal door fell from the top and covered the exits and the entrances, dumilim naman ang buong lugar!
“Sh*t…”
“The f*ck?” Lumapit si James saakin at inalis ako sa Carpet. Pumunta naman agad kami sa metal door, but to my surprise, wala na akong maramdaman na metal. The light went on and I barely breathed dahil sa gulat. The wall infront of us weren’t metal anymore, isa na itong painted wall!
Napakapit ako sa braso ni James, I’m terrified already! The paintings- Cyclops with one eyes at kumakain ng tao! In the waist of the cyclops is an ocean at sa ilalim ng dagat, there were mermaids with terrifying faces! The hairs were snakes at ang mga buntot nila ay parang crocodiles! Why the hell are these paintings look so real!?
“Sh*t, James. Umali na tayo rito.” Sabi ko sakanya. Curse Shane for making me wait in this building!
We turned around to look for a door, but the whole building seemed to turn into a small room filled with terrifying breath-taking realistic paintings!
“Oh f*ck.” Mura nya. We gazed at the paintings at halos masuka na ako sa takot, the paintings were monsters like Giants, Cyclops, spirits with ugly faces and they’re eating humans as if they were French fries! AAhhh!
“Your Hemera and Ace might’ve plan this.” Sabi ni James. Shane and Ivan would team up to do something like this? Hindi ako maniniwala. But if shane is involved here, bibigyan ko sya ng malalang parusa! God! Alam nya naman na ayoko ng mga ganito!
“Let’s look for a way out.” Sabi ko sakanya.
“You look for a way out, I’m bored.” He said and sat on the floor. WHAT!?
When his butt touched the floor, biglang umingay ang Sistema.
“What the hell was that!?”
Biglang umulan ng malamig na tubig mula sa bubong and the whole room moistened.
“Sh*t. That’s cold!” sabi ni James at napatayo.
“Stop lamenting and get us the hell out of here!” sigaw ko sakanya. It’s his fault because he pushed a button!
“No good, this room’s filled with traps and buttons.” Seryoso nitong sabi.
“Are you serious?!”
“Maybe I’m not. But we’re gonna die here.” Anito. GOD!
“Stop freaking me out!”
The ceiling is still raining cold water at tumitipon na ang tubig sa sahig. What now?!
“What should we do?”
“Dunnow. But this room surely is going to be filled with cold water.” Sabi nya. ArrghH! He’s still useless!
“Maybe there’s something, like a cctv camera kung sino man ang nagbabantay sa lugar na ito, or push buttons or hidden doors!”
“Stop screaming, this isn’t serious.” Sabi ni James.
“Paano ma naman ‘yan nasabi? You just pushed a button which rained cold water! Do you wanna swim in a cold water in this kind of time, in this kind of place?!” that’s it, I’m speaking too much. Pumunta ako sa lugar kung saan umupo si James and pressed the floor. Akala ko ay papatay na ang ulan, but instead, it rained harder.
“Aww Sh*t!”
The water level is already in my ankle at basang basa na ako, I removed my Jacket at pinagdu-dukdok ang wall. There must be a hidden door here!
“Stop screwing around.” Kalmadong sabi ni James at mahigpit na hinawakan ang dalawa kong kamay.
“I’m not screwing around!”
“You are. Why don’t you take a deep breath and relax?” Anito. Huminga naman ako ng malalim at pinunasan ang basa kong mukha.
“There, I’m relaxed. And how are we supposed to get out of here, hm?”
“Tch.” He stepped forward to the paintings as if nothing were bothering him.
“Look at the paintings, what can you say about them?” Tanong nya.
“They’re creepy.” Sagot ko.
“Tss. They’re ancient greek. The cyclops, the giants, the god of the sea, that flying manatees and baby cupids.” Sabi ni James.
“So? So what if they are?” Now that he mentioned ‘ANCIENT’, the paintings are less creepier now.
“Take a closer look at them.” Anito.
“Why don’t you take a closer look at them!?” sabi ko at inikutan sya ng mata. Nilibot ko ang aking tingin sa room and I noticed the paintings.. May mga tao rin doon and they were armoured, behind them were bigger human-looking creatures and they were all twelve in numbers. Teka… if I’m not wrong,,, they’re
“Gods? Greek/Roman Gods?” sabi ko.
“The gods are just part of the whole. Whoever designed this room, must be someone very clever.” Ani James. Now that sounds like Shane and Ivan team up!
“Rrghh. Curse your Ace for this. They’re trying to murder us.” Sabi ko and I crossed my arms.
“Mhm. They’ll be dead including your Hemera.” Sabi pa nito.
“Tumigil ka na nga, tell me what you suspect about the paintings!” I hissed at him. Wag nya lang kalimutan na he’s been ignoring me!
“It’s the titan war.” He said.
“At ano naman ang magagawa ng Titan War na’yan sa lagusan natin?”
“Shut up and listen.”
“It all began when the big three, Zeus, Poseidon and Hades fought back to their big evil father, Cronus. But Cronus was too strong, he had an Army of titans.” Panimula ni James and pointed the paintings with an ugly-looking big guy on the throne at pinalilibutan sya ng mga Giants with ugly faces.
“Olympus was in danger, Cronus will get rid of his children.”
“The Gods needed help from their offsprings, The Demigods. The Demigods fought alongside the Gods, but the Gods were humiliated because they did nothing but cower, the Demigods did it all with the help of the gods, And Overthrew Cronus to Tartarus.” Ani James while pointing the paintings that matched his sayings. The last part of the wall was like a huge black hole. Sa gitna ng black hole was red button!
“The Abyss, press the button in the middle of the Abyss.” Utos ni James. I crumpled my face on him at lumakad patungo sa black hole which he called ‘The Abyss’, I know it was the Abyss but I call it the black hole. I took another step forward, but where I stepped was a tile na dumiin sa sahig.
“Oh sh*t.”
I looked up in the ceiling at bigla itong bumukas, then a wave of cold water hit my head.
