November 16th

"How do you think Alex is?" Karl pondered aloud, Sapnap looking up from his cereal. He crunched his coco pops and swallowed,  leaning back into his chair slightly.

"What makes you ask?"

"I dunno..."

"He let them torture you, hun"

"I know..." the brunette sniffled. "I just miss him sometimes"

Sapnap frowned, discarding his bowl and leaving his seat. He wrapped his arms around his fiance and held him tight, kissing the top of his head. The loss of Quackity was hard on Karl, the ravenette tried his best to be there for his other half after the other walked out on them but it was hard most days. Sapnap chose to ignore his own feelings to help Karl, he knew it was bad and that he needed to express his own feelings but he knew he would do something he would regret.

He was sad, of course, he was but his anger outweighed the weaker emotion tenfold. During his gym visits, he would take it out on the punching bag. The cop never let anyone see the emotional side of him except Karl and even then, he never wanted the brunette to see him in that state.

He ran a hand through the librarian's curly hair, Karl sniffling as he wiped his eyes and laughed. Sapnap looked at the boy, his grey eyes flickering to look at the boy as he began to stand up. Sap moved back a bit, Karl turning to look at him with a weak smile.

"I'm going to get ready for work" The brunette muttered, linking their hands together as he leant forward and kissed the spitfire's cheek. Sapnap reached up with his free hand and brushed the boy's porcelain cheeks, wiping away a tear track. He nodded.

The months since the kidnapping had been tough. Karl got more frustrated because he felt useless being stuck in bed and was feeling constant guilt because his lover would do all these things for him. He could barely stomach food for a long while and felt guilty every time he couldn't finish a meal. He would wake up from nightmares screaming and crying and every time Sapnap was awake with him.

Karl still wakes up in a fright some nights but he's gotten a lot better. Most people would think it was something you could get over in a matter of weeks but Sapnap knew better, knowing it was a months, sometimes years or a lifelong process and he would be there every step of the way. That part of the library still scares Karl and whenever someone needs help in that area or it needs to be cleaned, the brunette sends Tina, his only other employee, over. She understands completely.

Sapnap watched his fiance walk up the stairs to go get ready for his day. He smiled softly, walking back over to his discarded chocolate soggy cereal. He was not eating that. The man sighed, picking the bowl and cold mug of coffee, walking over towards the kitchen. He poured the contents of the bowl down the sink and put his mug into the microwave, heating up the remaining liquid. It was too much to just pour down the drain.

"What do you think of November 16th?"

"Hm?" Sap turned around, his beautiful fiance approaching as he slipped on a colour block jumper. It had been a gift from his sister and he wore it basically every day. He looked though.

"For a wedding date," Karl looped his arms around the ravenette's neck, the younger male placing his hands on the man's waist and trailing his thumb up and down. They had been engaged for so long that both forgot about planning the actual wedding.

"I like it, a snow wedding"

"Gotta cool you down somehow"

"Do you now?" Sapnap smirked, his eyes flickering from the boy's eyes to his lips and back up. Karl giggled, ducking his head into the cop's shoulder. The ravenette smiled, the brunette brought his head back up and leaned in.

The two shared a short, yet loving and passionate kiss before Karl had to run to open his library to the public. He was always running late. Maybe Sapnap should let him believe the wedding was to begin an hour before the actual time to ensure he will show up on time. The man laughed at his own thoughts before grabbing his keys, bandanna and the mug out of the microwave, pouring the liquid into a small travel mug and making his way out the door.

The warm sun instantly hit his face, warming him. Living away from the city and people had its advantages; meaning he could enjoy the sun without anyone ruining it for him. A gentle breeze flew by, causing the flowers in the garden to sway and Sapnap's black ink hair. He smiled, placing the mug down on the nearby brick wall which was covered in vines that Karl didn't want to get rid of, and reached up; tying his bandanna tight so it wouldn't get in the way.

He huffed, picking up the cup and fumbling with his keys; unlocking the car and jumping in. First order of business— which was the same every day— pick up George. Recently, the brunette had been telling his partner about this girl he had recently been seeing. It warmed Sap's heart to see the male finally put himself back out there in the world after everything. They were planning a double date so he could meet her.

Sapnap wasn't that surprised when George came out as omnisexual to the ravenette and their blonde friend in high school. They always had a feeling he liked people other than women. Dream came out the same day, telling his friends about being bisexual and Sapnap laughed, telling them about his own identity. He was bisexual with a preference for men if you were wondering. It was a core memory for the trio.

They often laughed about how none of them were straight.

When Dream and George began to see each other, the ravenette grew jealous. He had had a crush on the blonde at the time. Then when he met Karl, everything changed. He eventually told them about this cute brunette at the local book cafe he had a crush on and the two friends hyped him up as much as he could.

Of course, now their lives were something the group never saw in their futures. Dream didn't expect to be the captain or be tracking down a known drug syndicate. George didn't expect to have lost the one person he opened his heart to and Sapnap never expected to get the guy, gain another, get engaged and then lose one of the men. In short: they got everything they never expected.

Sapnap pulled up onto the curb of the street, a brunette boy with an officers uniform on waving to the ravenette as he trudged down the path from his apartment complex. The hot air flew into the vehicle as George opened the door, disrupting the colder air inside. Once his seat belt clicked, Sap indicated to pull back into the street and began to drive to the precinct.

He had a feeling this was going to be one hell of a day.
