Face To Face

Jungwon felt like this evening would never come to an end. First, they all ate, and then, they spent a few hours in the living room, some playing Uno, and the others Mario Kart.
It was a very cosy and refreshing evening overall, but Jungwon kept wanting to be alone with Jay, and he couldn't manage to make it happen. There was always someone on his way. Frustrated, he finally gave in and decided to write a bigger note for Jay that night.
It's the best I can do right now.

Sunghoon was the first to yawn. The other members followed him quite fast after that. It was as if he had set a trend. Jungwon had to hide his happiness.
Finally they're going to bed! I can't wait to be alone.
On his way to the bedroom, Jay poked Jungwon's cheek multiples times. He only stopped when Jungwon poked his cheek as well. It was how they said goodnight to each other.

Jungwon had to wait more than usual for everyone to fall asleep. For some reason, Niki and Sunoo kept whispering and giggling for a while.
Jake desperately asked them to be quiet and after a few minutes, the dorm became calm again.
The vampire waited a little more, just to be sure. He then got up, and headed for the kitchen to write the note.
Is this becoming a ritual of mine?

As he entered the kitchen, he heard the bedroom door open. Someone was coming towards the kitchen. Jungwon put his pencil and the paper in his pocket and decided to take a glass of water as a believable alibi.
Jay arrived in the kitchen, fully awake, which surprised Jungwon.
"I couldn't sleep" explained Jay.
"Me neither" replied Jungwon, but not for the same reasons i guess.
"So.. Would you agree to talk a bit about what's going on?" said Jay, being straightforward.
I have to think quickly now. I can't make any mistakes.
"Yes we can, but let's close the door first" replied Jungwon.
Without hesitating, Jay went for the door and closed it. Jungwon was sitting at the table, and Jay sat in front of him.
"What's happening?" asked Jay, looking concerned. He observed Jungwon and couldn't help but see that Jungwon was a bit stressed.
"Well... First, you should know that I don't want to lie to you. And I don't ever intend to lie to you. I've been going through a.. How should I put it? Through a difficult phase. But I'm doing better now." began Jungwon, not knowing what he was going to say next.
"Does it have something to do with me?" continued Jay.
"Yes and no. It involves you, but it's my problem." said Jungwon. "You haven't done anything wrong, I promise."
"Is it a secret?" asked Jay.
"Yes" replied Jungwon, avoiding Jay's eyes.
"It seems to me that you don't want to share this secret with me, am I wrong?" asked Jay, being once again straightforward.
What should I answer? If I go too far, he'll end up discovering the truth, if I don't tell him enough he will continue asking...
"I really want to share it with you, but I can't." whispered Jungwon, looking honestly upset.
Seeing Jungwon so shaken, Jay stood up and walked to him. He hugged him warmly from behind. Jay regretted having been so straightforward. He knew he had hit a nerve.
"It's okay, you don't have to be this upset" whispered Jay.
Jungwon wrapped his hands around Jay's arms. A small tear appeared on his cheek.
"I'm afraid to loose you, that's all" said Jungwon. This sentence was so short and yet it held so much meaning. Not only was Jungwon scared of hurting Jay himself. He also was scared about what the Council would do to him if they knew. But mostly he was afraid that Jay would reject him if he discovered his true nature.

They kept hugging like this for a while, without moving nor saying anything.
Time seemed to freeze and Jungwon could feel Jay's heart beating on his back. It was the warmest hug the vampire had ever recieved.

Finally, Jay ended the hug and sat besides Jungwon.
"Look Won," he said, taking Jungwon's hands in his. "I don't know what you're going through, and obviously I'm curious about it. But if it makes you this upset, I understand that it might be better for me not to know. The important thing is that you won't loose me. Ever. I meant it when I said I'd break a huge egg for you, and I still mean it. We're in this together."
"You really feel that way?" asked Jungwon.
Jay smiled.
"Well, maybe you can't share your secret with me, but I want to share one with you" said Jay, suddenly blushing a bit. He looked into Jungwon's eyes before leaning close to him. "I like you Won" he whispered in Jungwon's ear.
The vampire should have pushed Jay away. He should have done that to protect Jay. He should have said that he didn't like him in return. Yes, Jay would be hurt at first, but he would eventually move on and be safe.
But instead, Jungwon locked eyes with Jay and softly replied "I like you too".

Without any hesitation, Jay cupped Jungwon's cheek with one hand and slowly came closer to Jungwon. Only a few centimeters were separating their faces now. Jungwon had never felt such tension before. He closed his eyes as their lips touched. Even though they both were burning inside, their kiss was the most gentle, soft and sweet moment they shared.
