Bucky frantically looked around, Nyx was nowhere to be seen. A part of him thought she was dead, but the other part couldn't shake the feeling she was alive.
He called out her name a couple times, before sighing.
Nyx wasn't here.
He didn't know where she was.
He didn't know if she was alive.
But he knew he had to do something.
He turned around and walked to the jet, everyone trailed behind him. They were worried about him, worried if he was going to do something reckless.
Bucky simply sat down in the jet and buckled his seat belt and stared into oblivion.
The team walked in, all of them sharing glances, and took their seats and started up the jet. They would all occasionally take a look at him, but no one talked. No one said anything.
They all felt guilty. If Nyx was really dead, the guilt they have, will take over them. They all felt some pity towards Bucky and Nyx. They never got to experience a real relationship, but that's what happens when you try to be a hero...right?
The jet took hours to get back to New York. One the jet landed on the launch pad, Bucky was the first to jump out of his seat and rush out the jet. Wanda started to rush after him, but Steve placed his hand on her shoulder, shaking his head.
Wanda nodded and slumped back down in her chair. She wanted to know what he was feeling, if he wanted someone to talk to. She knew Nyx would not want him to be alone right now, and she felt like she owed it to Nyx to make sure he's okay.
Bucky took off his vest and threw on a balck sweater and changed out of his combat boots and put on his other black shoes. He grabbed his wallet from his dresser and went down to the garage.
He found a car and keys and hopped in the car, quickly starting the engine and driving off. Bucky had one thing he needed to do, and he was going to do it today.
"I like it. I want it now." Bucky said as he slammed his card on the counter.
"Are you sure, sir?" The salesman asked.
"Yes. Give me the keys for it now...please?" Bucky said adding the 'please' hoping he could get it sooner.
The man nodded and charged his card. He handed Bucky the keys and he grabbed it with a slight smile and walked out. He walked over the sand, letting his feet soak in the hot sand. He went up the stairs and looked at the door.
The green door.
He smiled as he put the key into the lock, and opened the door. Beautiful white and beige walls filled his vision. The slick counter, and the comfy chairs, and the huge balcony in the back.
He walked to the back of the house and went out on the balcony. The fresh breeze was hitting him in the face, as his hair was flying back due to the pressure. He smiled, thinking he could get used to this.
Bucky sat on the balcony for a long time, watching the stars. He noticed a figure walking on the beach and sitting down. Their hair flowing backwards as they looked at the stars.
He doesn't know why but something told him to go to the figure and he did. His legs were working faster than his mind and before he knew it, he was standing right behind the figure.
"Sit with me." The figure said. Their voice is delicate and filled with so much hope.
Bucky sat down and looked at the figure. The figure looked back at him and Bucky tilted his head.
