Nariko finally wakes up from her deep slumber. She notices that she is laying in a futon in a very dark room. She squinted her eyes and she realizes that she wasn't dreaming at all. She rised from her bed and looked around.
"What am I doing here? Am I... home?" She asked herself. Just then, a woman with a Bali hai colored haori appeared in front of her. She carries a bamboo tray with medicines and some herbs. She gets closer to Nariko and still, she is dumbfounded.
"I see that you are awake now. You were so cozy that I didn't wake you up these past 10 days," the woman said.
"W-wait." Nariko freezes and stares at the woman. "I WAS ASLEEP FOR A WEEK AND A HALF?! HOW THE HELL AM I STILL ALIVE WITHOUT EATING ANYTHING?!" She yells with confusion. The woman let out a chuckle. "You've been unconscious but luckily, I'm the one who took care of you."
Nariko tried to process everything, but she can't understand a single thing what happened to her. "You really can't remember anything?" The woman asked. "I'm sorry, but I don't seem to have a clue why I'm here, or why I was unconscious for 10 days," Nariko answers back. The woman had an idea and went to the other side of the room. She comes back with a broken sword and shows it to Nariko. Three minutes passed and finally, she remembered everything. Her family was eaten by two demons and she didn't had a chance to save them. She cried and cried until she finally calmed down. She decided to tell the whole story to the woman and she understood.
"I'm really sorry to hear that. It must have been really hard, especially when we're talking about you-know-who. But don't worry, I'll be here by your side," the woman said and cheered Nariko up.
"Thanks for the help, but why are you willing to help me when I'm a total stranger? You didn't even hesitate and gave me another chance to live?" Nariko asked out of the blue.
"Simple, because I know you can defeat the King of the Demons," the woman answered.
"How can I even defeat him if I can't even kill his minions? I'm sorry but I think you've got the wrong person," Nariko was about to leave when the sunlight hits her arms, causing it to burn into ashes. Nariko screams and backs off from the door.
"WHAT IN THE FRIGGIN' TARNATION JUST HAPPENED?! I LITERALLY JUST WALKED OUT AND THE SUN BURNT MY ARM!"
"I may have something to do with it."
"What did you--" Nariko cuts her own words as she realizes.
"I'M A DEMON?!" She yells again, causing the woman to cover her ears. Nariko freaks out and walks around in circles until she fainted. The woman carried her back to her bed and waited until she woke up again.
"I really am sorry, but I promise I will explain it once you regain consciousness," the woman whispered under her breath and left the room.
THE NEXT DAY
Nariko wakes up again from her peaceful sleep and tries to remember what happened yesterday. The woman approached her again, but this time, Nariko was interested in the woman's explanation.
"Whatever I say, please don't freak out," the woman had to make sure Nariko was calm to understand. She agreed and the woman started to explain. "I found your body in the middle of the snowy forest where I get my medicinal herbs so I carried your body all the way here. You were on the verge of death so I had no choice but to give you some of my blood. I thought it might help with the healing process. After that, you became a demon. That's the reason why you were still alive even though you were asleep. I was actually surprised when you kept sleeping without craving for blood. Maybe you were gaining strength by sleeping so you didn't need to eat humans. Usually, after becoming a demon, they really intend to find any humans around their vicinity to eat humans. But you seem to be unique." After hearing these words, the only thing Nariko could say was "I don't get it."
"So my explanation was pointless?"
"No. About lust for human flesh and blood. Like I'm supposed to go wild and search for something to satisfy myself, and yet I'm here, awake and unfortunately still dumb. Maybe I broke free from Muzan's brainwashing stuff?" Nariko muttered.
"That was supposed to be my point."
"You didn't even finished your sentence? Are you dumb?"
"That's supposed to be my line," the woman sighed in defeat. There was no point in arguing with someone who suffers in solving math problems.
"So to sum it up, that Akaza left me alone, I went to a forest I wasn't even familiar of, then because my body finally gave up, so did my consciousness, and you miraculously found me, patched me up, and because I was almost dying, you gave me some of your blood, and then I wake up not wanting to eat humans. So it means..." Nariko was about to speak when the woman cut off her words.
"You were able to break free from Muzan's curse by your own unexplainable will!"
"Yeah you have a point. But it definitely means that I am built different!" The young woman grins with arrogance while the other was dumbstruck. "You have some guts to says those things without even thanking me," the woman said to herself.
"But without your help, I wouldn't be alive right now. Even if I lost my family, you comforted me and that really helped a lot. Who would've thought that a complete stranger like me would bump into a very kind-hearted person like you. You're one of a kind!" The woman got flustered and looked away.
"You're blushing! I made you happy, didn't I? But sad to say, I don't date girls." The woman was about to hit Nariko, making her take back what she said. They started to laugh for a moment and got serious again.
"But really, thank you. And by the way, I never caught your name. How could we be friends if we don't know each other's names?"
"Then let's settle this. I'm Tanaka Himari. You?"
"Ikishima Nariko. Pleased to be with you." Nariko offers her hand to Himari, signalling for a hand shake. Himari smiles and shakes Nariko's hand.
"So now we're official besties! My 461st friend, to be precise!" Himari was astonished, as it seems that Nariko really keeps count on how many friends she made throughout her life.
"You sure have a hidden talent. If that's the case, you're my very first friend."
Nariko was a bit disappointed. If only she knew, then she wouldn't have to bring it up. She knew that demons don't usually team up or make friends with their own kind, so she tried to find a way to cheer Himari up, but ended up in overthinking. Of course, Himari noticed this.
"B-but don't worry. I'm actually glad you're my very first friend. Now I know how friendship works and I feel great! If I made friends with the wrong person, who knows what would happen to me? So don't pressure yourself too much in cheering me up," Himari reassured the young woman, tugging a smile on Nariko's lips.
Afterwards, they prolonged their conversation for hours. You can tell that Himari was actually glad because Nariko was very talkative which entertained her. As darkness filled the clouds, they decided to go out for a little stroll. As they walked through the peaceful forest, something was bothering Nariko's mind.
'How would I tell the whole Demon Slayer Corps about this, especially to my teacher? If anything happens to me, she would be held responsible and would receive severe punishment. As her student, I have to bear with that punishment as well. Now that I'm a demon, things would really get rough. Would I even live?'
"Oh fuc--"

If you made it here, then thank you HAHAHAHAHAHA I really suck at writing stories lol. Anyways, Nariko's characteristics is very similar to mine, except for the height and her pretty face. If I have time, I will add some TMI of the characters. If someone's actually reading this fanfic (and enjoying it too), I really appreciate it. Love, from Paddington.
