Haruto was relieved. He could finally fulfill his promise to his departed friend.

"Well then, shall we go inside?"

"You didn't listen to me earlier, right?"

They both stared at each other for a moment and Haruto's eyes widened.

"You're a de--" Nariko covered his mouth as he almost spilled to the whole neighborhood that she was a demon.

"If you don't want me to gobble you up, shut your mouth! This is why my brother doesn't want to share his secrets with you!" She whispered loudly while he removed her hand from his mouth.

"Since when was the last time you washed your hands?" Nariko clenched her fist, making him take back what he said. He doesn't want to start causing trouble with her since he knows she never backs down from a fight.

"How are you going to get inside if you can't withstand wisteria?"

"I don't need to go inside. I just need you to go get your dad and help me fix my Nichirin blade," she said as she took the cloth she kept from her back. Her haori covered it, so no one ever noticed. She took off the cloth, revealing her sheath.

"That's like the fifth time your blade broke this month. Dad kept complaining about his back because you were really careless."

"I'm sorry, but it's not my fault an upper rank demon showed up at our house and managed to not just chip the blade, but broke it in half. By the way, it's the fifth time this year, not month. Besides, your dad told me he never complains because it was his job. His back just hurts because you didn't even help him carry the firewood."

"You're lying. How did you know such a thing?"

"Because he told me a month ago?" She raised her brow, implying that she wasn't lying but rather the other way around. Haruto wiped his sweat out of nervousness.

"Anyways, Dad's not here. He started living in the swordsmith village three weeks ago. If you want to see him, you have to go there. But that won't be a good idea, since you have to reveal yourself to everyone."

Nariko had to think hard again. She hated finding ways when things get rough, yet she had to. Haruto yelped, indicating that he thought of a plan.

"What if you pretend to be a kakushi and then go straight ahead to Dad? No one would ever notice since the only thing visible is their eyes. It would be hard for anyone to recognize you."

"Dumbass. They would easily figure it out. They have ways. You're really fond of underestimating everything you know." Haruto scratched his head and apologized. This was one of his toxic traits. He thinks he is above everything and everyone, so everyone assumes he is arrogant.

"I just have to try something," Nariko emitted as she walked straight to the wisteria trees.

"Are you insane?! That's suicide! Get back here!" He ran towards her, but she also ran ahead which made things difficult. She stretched out an arm, reaching out for the said flower.

Haruto kept on yelling, but she neglected him. Her curiosity rose until she finally made it past the wisteria grove. She faced him and put a smirk on her face.

"You fell for it."

Nerves started to pop out on his face as he gritted his teeth in anger. "Why, you little runt! Get back here!" She laughed hard as she looked at Haruto having an outrage. Just then, a soft voice called her from behind.

"Nariko-chan? Is that you?"

She looked behind to see Haruto's aunt greeting her with a sweet smile on her face.
