Infinity Castle
Akaza's POV
"Why am I here? Did one of us die?" I asked myself as I roamed around his fortress, the Dimensional Infinity Castle. We only get summoned if one of us gets killed by a member of the demon hunters.
Just as I took another step, Nakime struck her biwa and I teleported right in front of him. He had this very intimidating aura that would want to make you suffocate. I sensed his anger, which meant I did something to upset him.
"Akaza, you grasped the idea already. But do you know the reason why you're here?" His voice was filled with rage as he finished his sentence. "You're here because another demon got away from my control. I thought you already got rid of that kid. Now she became a demon with the help of Himari and Tamayo."
My eyes widened in surprise. The girl that I thought was dying managed to get stronger by his former aide. Anger flowed through every part of my body as I brought myself to disappoint him.
"Not only had she survived, but she also had blood demon art. She might be a weakling, but as she is a member of our nemesis, she needs to die. And you failed to do so when she was still a mere human. I gave you permission to not kill women, but look where that got you."
He turned his back on me as he continued his lecture. "Since you have a very high rank, and you do your job well, I will not strip away your wish to not execute women. But you have to make sure to compensate by finding the blue spider lily. Don't even try to fail, or else you will suffer."
"Yes, Muzan-sama," I mumbled as I looked down. I couldn't help but heat myself up in anger when I remembered the little runt. She was supposed to be dead, yet Himari found her and even kept her alive. It made my blood boil just by thinking about it. I want to kill them.
"Don't you try to disobey me. I know you better than anyone. Do better." His last words felt like I heard it before. I just shrugged off the thought as I lost sight of him.
Shikichi Residence
"Stay safe, you two," Ririka said as she hugged Nariko. They were leaving and they had to send the both of them off.
"Make sure to get back here, alive and well." Hiroto patted Haruto's shoulder, and he tapped his uncle's hand back. "Nii-chan, whenever you're afraid, just cling onto nee-chan's back. She's much braver than you are," Hayato teased, making Haruto flustered.
"Stop getting into trouble. Uncle Hiroto's head will explode if all of you get too stubborn and beat each other up," he declared while ruffling his cousins' hair. Of course, they got embarrassed and beat the hell out of Haruto. He couldn't do anything because if he did, they would just cause more ruckus.
"Nee-chan, let me go with you! I will do my best to restrain myself," Akari cried while clinging onto Nariko's legs. "I'm very sorry, but I can't. If you tag along, we'll just be dinner for bears," she fibbed.
"Then promise me you will visit." Akari let out her pinky, and Nariko intertwined hers with it. "I promise I will bring back your brother alive and visit you all." Soon after, they hugged each other and they finally departed.
As they walked past the bamboo grove, Nariko spotted something on Haruto's back. "Are my eyes playing tricks on me, or is there something on your back?"
Haruto let out a sigh while stopping. He took out the cloth that had something inside. "Is that a bone?"
"You dumb idiot. Dad gave this to me when I turned nine, but I never had any interest in it so he just hid it in his old workshop. I thought you might need it," he uttered as he handed out the Nichirin blade to Nariko.
