Nariko held her head high. She was about to witness her own death before her eyes. Was it going to be the end?

Nope. Haruto dashed in, grabbing and unsheathing the blade, and managed to cut Akina's arm. He pulled Nariko towards him, carrying her all the way back.

"Who are you? Why are you butting in?" Akina asked while regenerating her arm.

"That's none of your business. So just leave, will you?" Haruto could sense her strength, and he was in no shape to meddle with her.

"Looks like I'm going to have to finish you along with that demon, since you're conspiring with such a creature. Is she your lover of some kind?"

Haruto gave off a disgusted look, which shook Akina. "I would never be interested in making her my wife! She's an idiot, and she makes bad choices every time."

"Looks like we're on the same page. But why save her when she's not your type?" Akina was eager to know their actual relationship, but Haruto wasn't giving it away so easily.

"How could I let a person who saved my life from being miserable, even though she annoys me, suffer? Everyone, even you, should know that you must repay the kindness that someone bestows you."

Silence filled the air as Akina tried to process what Haruto said. She let out a chuckle, then started to laugh like a maniac.

"I didn't knew humans are still stupid up to this day! Repay their kindness? Like hell I would do that!" She continued to laugh hysterically, making Haruto annoyed.

"You're saying that because you were mistreated, right?" These few words seemed to stop Akina. She caught a glimpse of her past life as a human, being abused and beaten to death. As her memories started to return, anger filled her soul. She wanted to kill Haruto.

"Thank you for bringing back those painful moments, young man. Made me want to kill you," she declared, prepping her battle stance.

Haruto was still holding onto Nariko while she was regenerating, though it was slow. "Nariko, if you don't wake up, we're dead meat!" She fell asleep during their conversation, trying to regenerate through sleeping.

"Die." Akina lunged forward, attempting to kill the two. "Blood Demon Art: Wind Kill."

"Shut up! I'm trying to sleep here!" Nariko swung her blade sidewards, cutting Akina's arms in the process.

No way… her attack suddenly went stronger than the last time. Was she just pretending to be weak? Does she have more tricks up her sleeve?

"You make me sick. Even though you're just a Lower Moon 5, you're being too arrogant. It definitely makes me sick," Nariko ranted, wiping off the blood in her sword. She regenerated in a snap.

Akina was shaking inside, yet her arrogance took control of her. She had to read Nariko's next move, or else she would die.

"Took you long enough. I had to talk to her, even though I didn't even like it. We could have died!" Haruto cried while tugging Nariko's arms. "Just shut it and go!"

Haruto ran as fast as he could, not taking the chance to get involved and become demon food. "Guess we have to do this the hard way," Akina exclaimed as she reattempted to kill Nariko.

"Thunder Breathing, Third Form: Thunder Swarm!" Nariko surrounded Akina with powerful waves of electricity and sword slashes, which sliced her in all directions. The slashes nearly decapitated Akina's neck, making her throw tantrums.

"How dare you! You will never get away with this!" Akina and Nariko exchange blows, not even making sure if one of them got beheaded.

Nariko finally had enough. She knew she had to end Akina right there and right now. "Blood Demon Art: Blood Stream!" She yells while cutting herself.
