"You'll know when we'll get there."
These words seem to scare Nariko. She had her suspicions, and now it just got worse. She overthinked again. Overthought? Whatever. She was literally panicking deep inside. Questions were circling around her like it was a roller coaster. Himari noticed this and just chuckled.
"Don't worry, she's a nice person. When I was almost dying, she took care of me and even treated me as her own daughter. I want to pay her a visit and let you know her better." Nariko took the chance to calm down and sighed with relief.
"Then what are we waiting for? Let's go!" Nariko hurriedly ran but Himari grabbed her arm. "You idiot. Do you even know where we're going?"
Nariko was dumbfounded. She didn't even know where specifically she was, and yet she had the nerve to run away without knowing where she was headed. She started scratching her head and laughed nervously.
"I'm sorry about that. I'm just looking forward to meet her," she said with a smile.
"Anyways, you need to clean yourself up. You look like you were chased and ambushed by wolves." Nariko looked at Himari with a questioning look. She wasn't lying though. Nariko was in a tormented state. Apparently, she had no wounds but her clothes were all torn due to her confrontation with an Upper Moon.
"Then why didn't you change me up while I was asleep?"
"Well, you do have a point. But don't you think it would be weird?"
"Why would it be weird?"
"N-nevermind! As I said, you have to change your yukata. As for your haori, I can sew it if you want."
"Really? You'll do that for me?" Nariko was jumping in excitement. Maybe no one has offered her to sew her haori or she's just happy because she felt kindness from another person.
"Of course."
"I'm actually glad you considered sewing it instead of giving me a spare one. This haori was from my mother and she gave it to me when I was severely ill. She told me that it would keep me away from harm. Guess it did really kept me away from it. I really treasure this haori. It serves as my memento, so I don't want to throw it away."
After Nariko spoke, silence spread throughout the air like a wildfire.
"Well that was awkward. Anyways, let's go back so I can sew your haori and you can fix yourself up. Don't want to embarrass yourself."
"Don't want to what?"
"Nothing! Just hurry up." Himari picked up her basket and went off. Nariko just rolled her eyes and followed her. As soon as they arrived, Himari showed Nariko her collection of clothes and lent some to her. She went straight to the changing room while Himari proceeded to sew her torn haori.
A few minutes passed when Nariko was screaming that it reached the end of the forest. Himari rushed to find out what was going on, only to find Nariko who was really fascinated by the clothes.
"What just happened?! You had me worried!"
"These clothes are too comfortable! It's like wearing a king's clothes!"
Himari was almost regretting her life decisions. She then just realized that Nariko was actually dumb as hell. She even wondered how she even survived. She just sighed out in disbelief.
"Well I'm just glad you're alright. Anyways, I finished sewing your haori. Here you go," Himari said while handing over the haori to Nariko. She finally wore it excitedly and she was all fixed up.
"So, shall we head to Asakusa?"
Nariko nodded with happiness and agreed. They left the tiny hut, and to keep themselves company, they chatted for hours.
"By the way, Nariko, your technique was too weak. I can still easily recover from it, and I'm a weak demon. How are you going to avenge your family if you're too soft?" Himari blurted out of the blue.
"You're too straightforward. But you're right. I have to get stronger to kill that bastard and have my revenge. I'm gonna find a way to make myself more useful and powerful," Nariko replied.
"Aren't you supposed to be a Hashira right now? You slack off in your training, don't you?"
"No I don't! My teacher isn't dead or retiring yet. Do you want me to take her place and kill her?"
"Now that's just real dumb of you."
"So I'm the one who's dumb? You should know that since I told you all about being a tsuguko half an hour ago!"
They kept on arguing until they reached Asakusa. It was an exhausting journey, for it actually took them 3 hours. They could've just ran because they won't get tired anyways, but there were some demons in the other side of the forest. Luckily, they managed to defeat them.
They finally arrived, surrounded by flashing lights and lively people. It sure was noisy because of the crowded people.
"Now, let's go find her. I can't wait to see the look on her face when she sees us," Himari exclaimed and pulled Nariko's arm to get out of the crowd. She was too distracted because she was sniffing out demons in the area. There was a faint smell of two demons when they arrived, and she couldn't stay still.
"Here it is! I'm actually nervous meeting her since it's been a while," Himari said while pointing to a wall.
"Wait, are you sure this is the right place?"
"Yep."
"Are you certain that this is the actual place where your friend lives?"
"Yes."
"That's a freaking wall! Who the hell would live inside a wall?"
Nariko was ready to throw hands when a boy popped out from the wall. "What the hell is this commotion about?!"
They both looked at the mysterious lad while the other was giving them a judging look. Himari knew she had to break the awkward atmosphere, so she tried to talk.
"Yushiro! It's been a long time. How are you doing?"
"I'm doing fine. But why do you have to bring a stinky dog with you? She's too noisy. Come back when you get rid of her."
Nariko was still frozen. She couldn't process anything. First, a boy pops out from a freaking wall, and Himari seems to know him. She was trying to figure out who the boy was talking about. A second passed and she finally snapped back.
"Me?! A dog?! Who gave you the right to call me that?! Who even are you?! Are you the son of an emperor? A king? You're too arrogant for someone with weird eyes!"
The so-called Yushiro still gave Nariko a judging look without saying anything. Himari was already troubled until the boy finally spoke.
"Just follow me, would you? And shut up." Yushiro went back to the other side of the wall and the two followed. Himari was quite surprised because Nariko actually stopped ranting when Yushiro told her to shut up.
"No wonder why he called you a dog. You follow his orders just like a dog," she said to herself as they arrived at the other side of the wall.
