After Jungwon left shortly after having breakfast with us because of his boyfriend calling him, me and Jake, or my dog, sat across each other in the living room.
I just looked up and down Jake, wondering why he doesn't have his dog ears and dog tail.
"Umm, why are you staring at me like that, Sunghoon?", he asked shyly.
"Just wondering if you can choose to hide your ears and tail or is it a given that they don't show up when you're a human?"
"Oh! I choose to hide them. See?", He pointed up to his head and poof, dog ears popped out.
My eyes went wide as it did and Jake giggled. I reached out hesitantly and he just grabbed my hand, guiding them to his ears. It felt so real. Like it really was apart of him. If I didn't believe him then, I definitely believe him now.
"Wow. You really are Jake.", I looked into his puppy eyes and it sparkles as he smiled.
"I never got to thank you for saving me. Thank you, Sunghoon.", I felt my heart swoon.
"You're welcom- Wait, how do you speak such good korean?"
"Before you saved me, my previous owner liked to speak to me in Korean even though I'm from Australia.", My dog is an Australian breed? Wow, that's exotic.
"I tried to understand what every word he said stood for."
"Let me guess. He threw you out?", Jake looked up at me and shook his head.
"He left. Forgetting me.", I hope whoever was his owner before dies a horrible death and-Okay maybe I shouldn't be wishing death upon people.
"Screw him. Another man's loss and is another man's treasure. And you are my treasure, Jake.", I petted his head as he smiled, rubbing against my hand.
"I really hope me being in my human form doesn't weird you out."
"Never. You'll always be my Jake. Regardless of whether you're a human or a dog."
He smiled at me and leaned in as I closed my eyes, waiting for the kiss but I felt wetness across my left cheek to my right. He had licked my face. Like how a dog would. I opened my eyes in a split second shock before chuckling and ruffled his fluffy hair.
"You cutie. Why do you have to be so adorable?"
I questioned him more about whether if he could change back into a dog whenever he wants to and the answer he gave me was a surprise.
"Whenever I'm near you, I can't change back. I've grown a strong bond with you that my human form is how I will live as."
"But of course, I can choose to show my ears and tail whenever I want to.", He grinned sheepishly.
Whenever he smiled, my heart just raced faster and faster. I shouldn't have such a feeling for my dog but I couldn't help it. His human form is so my type of men. Cute baby yet manly face, sharp nose and puppy eyes. And those lips? God, those lips are like every gay man's dreams. Did the guy up there finally hear my pleas for a boyfriend?
"I want to see the outside, Sunghoon. Can I?", Jake asked me with his big puppy eyes.
I realised then that we haven't gone on a walk in a month. I smiled and nodded.
"Sure. Let me just get changed and then we can go. Where do you want to go?"
"Hmm? The Park? I want to go on the swing!", I chuckled. He sounded like a kid. It was cute.
And it's my weakness.
