a/n: I am so sorry about this chapter. I truly hate it so much. I started writing this book thinking that it had some potential but honestly I'm not sure I like it. At this point Im not even sure I know where I want to take it. I have hit major writers block with this one but I just wanted to post something since I failed to update on Friday. Decided to post today instead of my usual Monday post.  Should I continue this story? or should I just discontinue? Leave a comment and let me know what you think!

Just then a loud beeping was heard from Maya's room.

CODE BLUE THIRD FLOOR. CODE BLUE THIRD FLOOR.

Doctor Shepherd and Vic quickly made their way into Maya's room, along with a group of nurses who were assigned to respond to the code.

"What's wrong with my mommy?!" cried Gianna as one of the nurses moved her off of the bed.

"Gia come over here sweetie!" yelled Vic, extending her arms towards the little girl. She carried her out into the hallway as Gianna now sobbed incessantly. Vic tried to sooth her, rubbing small circles on her back, "shhh it's okay baby girl, everything's gonna be okay," she whispered.

Doctor Shepherd made her way out into the hallway greeting a terrified Gianna and Vic, "she's okay, everything is okay," she smiled. Vic let out a breath she hadn't even realized she was holding. Amelia got a bit closer and asked Vic to turn Gianna around so they could talk. Vic gave Amelia a confused look but obliged anyway.

"Hey little miss," she said, flashing a tender smile at her.

"Hi," Gianna responded.

"So I just wanted to tell you that mommy is okay, but I have a little question," she said, demonstrating how small the question was with her fingers.

"Okay," responded the child.

"Were you by any chance sitting on mommy's lap before we came in?" asked Amelia.

Gianna looked down at the floor trying to come up with an excuse as to why she had been sitting somewhere she wasn't supposed to.

"Umm no. I was sitting next to mommy I promise!" she said.

"Are you sure Gia? You won't be in trouble, the doctor just needs to know" reassured Vic.

Gia continued to avoid eye contact with both of the adults in front of her and just fiddled with her fingers. "I promise you're not in trouble Gia," said Amelia.

"I didn't sit on her," she reiterated.

"Did you maybe hug her? Or cuddle her?" asked Vic.

"I laid on her, but I was gentle I promise!" shouted Gianna as tears began to fill her eyes.

"Hey, Hey, it's okay. You didn't do anything wrong okay. I just want to explain something to you," said Amelia as she took the little girl from Vic's arms and walked back into the room with her.

Vic followed the two and was relieved to see that, even though Maya was still not awake, she was still there and nothing had changed. Amelia made her way over to Maya's bedside and sat on the edge of the bed, placing Gianna on her lap.

"Okay Gia, you see those wires coming out of your mom's shirt?" Amelia said, pointing over at Maya. Gianna nodded letting her know that she understood what she was talking about.

"Those wires are connected to some stickers that go here, here and here," she explained demonstrating on the little girl's body, "do you know what they are for?" she asked. Gianna once again nodded her head indicating that she didn't understand how they worked. She looked at Amelia expectantly and waited for her explanation.

"So those stickers watch mommy's heartbeat for us and let us know if something is wrong, but when you laid on her some of those wires moved and that computer up there started beeping really really loud," she said motioning over to the monitors that surrounded Maya. Amelia continued to explain what had happened in a way that Gianna would understand in hopes of keeping that from happening again. Vic finally understood what had happened and was relieved to find out that her best friend hadn't deteriorated further. Amelia gave Gianna the chance to ask as many questions as she wanted when it came to all of the tubes and monitors that were attached to her mom.

The once stressful moment finally began to die down. Gianna decided that it was time to finish reading her mom the books that she had picked up for today while Amelia and Vic continued to chat, sitting in the chairs next to Maya's bed. Just as Gianna was about to finish reading her princess story Maya began to cough and gag, reaching her hand up to try and pull the tube that was sitting in her throat.

"She's awake!" Vic yelled.
