flashback continued

"I'm your new mommy." The lady said,

"No you're not, you're not my mommy." Danielle cried,

The lady walked over to her, and sat down on the bed.

"Oh honey shush don't cry it's going to be OK, I'm going to take real good care of you."

"GET AWAY FROM ME, DON'T TOUCH ME." Danielle yelled as she pushed the lady away. "YOU'RE NOT MY MOMMY."

Danielle jumped off the bed and ran to the door, she pulled it open and ran out into a dimly lit corridor,

"MOMMY MOMMY WHERE ARE YOU? DADDY I WANT TO GO HOME." Danielle called out,

She sprinted down the corridor and around the corner straight into the man walking towards her,

"Whoa, whoa, whoa hey little one, slow down now," He said picking her up in his arms,

Danielle started screaming and hitting her fists against the man's shoulders,

"NOOO LET GO. PUT ME DOWN. I WANT TO GO HOME. LET ME GO. MOMMY." She cried,

"Danielle calm down please, I'm not going to hurt you, but I'm afraid you can't go home." The man said carrying her back into the room,

He sat her down on the bed next to the lady, but as soon as he let her go Danielle jumped of the bed and tried to run out the door again, the man quickly grabbed her before she could open the door and roughly sat her down on the chair,

"CUT IT OUT." He yelled, "I TOLD YOU YOU CAN'T GO HOME, NOW SIT HERE AND BE QUIET."

"Charles please don't growl at her," The lady said gently placing her hand on his arm, "We have to give Danielle time to adjust to her new home."

"I want to go home." Danielle cried.

"Oh honey." The lady knelt down in front of her and gently wiped her tears away, "I know this is hard for you and you must be so confused right now, I was going to wait until later but I think you have a right to know, your family don't want you anymore, they abandoned you."

"LIAR. LIAR. YOU'RE LYING. MY FAMILY LOVE ME THEY WOULDN'T LEAVE ME." Danielle yelled as the tears streamed down her face, "My Mommy would never leave me, she loves me, you're lying."

"I wish I was honey because you are such a beautiful young girl that it breaks my heart they would just leave you like this." The lady told her, "But your old Mommy and Daddy only wanted two daughters and they choose your two sisters over you and so now you are going to live with us your new Mommy and Daddy."

"No No No they wouldn't leave me, you're lying, you're lying." Danielle continued to cry.

"We'll let you get some rest, this is a lot for you to take in right now." The lady said.

They left the room and made sure it was locked behind them.

"No. No. Don't leave me in here. Please open the door. I want to go home." Danielle cried as she started banging her fists against the door again,

After several minutes her tiny fists hurt and exhausted she slid down the door to the floor,

"My mommy loves me she wouldn't leave me, she's going to come get me." She sobbed. "She's going to come get me."
