The two armies were now settled across Hyrule Field. They were now resting, the calm before the storm. Occasionally, Link would find some of the soldiers training. He ran across a pod of Gerudo soldiers training with their spears.

Link was walking around, carrying the Master Sword and Hero Crystal. His official title was the Hyrule Warrior now. He was now part of the herohood.

But his military title was First Commander Link. He was responsible for leading the Hyrulean army.

I'm also responsible for the fate of the Spectral Kingdom. I'm liable for a great many things. Link realized nonchalantly.

He was now nearing Mabe Village. The outpost was literally spanning Hyrule Field. It did stray away from the village and the ranch a little, but not a lot.

Makimi walked up to Link suddenly. She was observing the outpost surrounding the ranch her father owned.

"Link, what in Hylia-" she started.

"We are going to war. Take your family, go to Akkala Citadel. I am warning the village as well. I will send at least a hundred soldiers with you all to defend you." Link explained quietly.

Makimi looked taken aback. "War? You don't mean Calamity Ganon is back, do you?"

Link shook his head. "A bigger threat. Listen, there won't be much time. Tell your family to meet the village outside of the Castle Town walls." he ordered.

"Yes, sir. You can count on me, Commander Link." Makimi said obediently, now becoming more serious and alert.

Link nodded. He sent a silent prayer to the golden goddesses that she would be safe while he took care of Valoria.

He walked towards a soldier who was resting by the ashes of a fire from the night before. Link breathed and prepared to issue his command to the soldier.

"Hey, you. I need you to gather your-"

"Link?" the man asked.

The soldier got up and looked at Link. It was Daylen, Link's childhood friend.

"Daylen!" Link said happily. They hugged quickly before they returned to business.

"What's up?" Daylen asked.

"I need people to escort the Mabe Village residents to Akkala Citadel. Can you gather up at least a hundred soldiers and lead the people?" Link asked Daylen hopefully.

Daylen nodded uncertainly. "I- I think so. I can get General Addax or something."

The hero about retched. "Hylia, no. Definitely not him."

The soldier started laughing. "Yeah, I see how absurd that is. Alright, I can do it."

They both hugged and Link held Daylen by the shoulder. He looked into his friend's eyes and put on a stern face for extra effects.

"Do me proud, Daylen. I'll be sure to recommend you to Queen Zelda for a promotion to captain. You are the savior to these people." the hero reminded the soldier sternly.

"No pressure at all. Thanks, Link. I always knew you'd make it somewhere one day." Daylen said proudly.

"You, too. Now hurry. Valoria won't spare anyone when he attacks." Link ushered.

He didn't know if Daylen realized it, but he was secretly trying to get Makimi and Daylen to safety. Makimi was practically  a daughter or a little sister to him. Daylen was more like a close brother. If anything happened to them, he would be beside himself for all of time.
