Several decades after Valoria's defeat...

Link was now 82. Ganondorf had died a year before at the age of 97. The Hyrule Warrior knew his end was coming soon. He had been seeing several visions of his own death as a fog in the distance.

Ganondorf, even in death, was still popular. His social empire still endured. Link's knight academy had been passed down to Jaylin years back when Link retired from the army at the age of 74.

Jaylin himself was 47 and had a daughter of his own named Zona. She was 20 and was expecting a child as well. So Link would be a great grandfather soon. But he doubted that he would be alive for the occasion.

He sat at his desk silently. He lived alone in his house in Gerudo Settlement. Jaylin worked as a bartender at the Noble Canteen and a soldier in his freetime whereas his wife worked at the inn.

Link was rather surprised when Jaylin had a wife instead of a husband. He had feared that his own attraction to men would have rubbed off on his son.

But Jaylin liked women and men.

That was alright with Link. At least Jaylin was getting more people than Link could have in his own time.

Jaylin isn't related at all to me, though. This entire family is really based off of Ganondorf's bloodline. Link thought quietly, remembering who really contributed to the birth of Jaylin.

Link hadn't talked in years. None of the people he knew was still alive. All of his friends in the army had died within the past few years, including Daylen. Ganondorf had died last year due to his old age. Jaylin hardly talked to Link anymore because he was almost constantly busy with little time to rest.

He recalled his years as a teenager when he refused to speak. Then, he started speaking again when he found not only the Zonai Crystal, but his fate as well.

And that changed even more when he started openly speaking. That was because of Ganondorf. The Gerudo man had given Link a lot of motivation and courage to speak.

"A hero who holds the Triforce of Courage, and yet he is too scared to speak." Ganondorf had said. That was over sixty years ago.

Link had freely spoke more and more since then. Every time he got nervous, Ganondorf would comfort him and cheer him up.

The hero walked back to his desk and sat down. He looked at his old books that he wrote himself once upon a time. He packed them into a box and carried them out to the sand seal.

He strapped the box down and rose to Gerudo Town. He got off and walked to Jaylin's house. Link knocked on the door.

"Jaylin?" he called in his raspy voice.

The door opened. "Father? What's this?" he asked as he jabbed his finger at the box.

"The books you read when you were young. I want you to pass them down through the family. An heirloom, if you will." Link offered, handing the box of books to Jaylin.

"You mean those legends you wrote years ago? I thought you loved these books. I half expected you to want to be buried with them." Jaylin joked sarcastically. He took the box regardless.

"I do. Which is why I want them to be passed down." the older man said plaintively.

"Yeah. But what if they get lost over the years?" Jaylin asked worriedly.

"Then, find them. That is my only wish. Ganondorf wished for you to carry the family business at the Noble Canteen down the line. This is all I want before I die." Link answered sternly.
