(1) Are you a human?

Anne's Pov

You might be wondering how I ended up in this situation. I didn't expect that my teenage life would end up living in another world full of amphibians and gross creatures that you can practically imagine in your head.

My name is Anne Boonchuy, and I come from another world called 'Earth'. Obviously you guys are from there too, but that's another topic we don't wanna discuss about right now.

Anyways, I don't know how I ended up in this world or even know how long I've been here. I haven't eaten in days and there was barely any water supplies around the area that I could drink out of.

By then I would've been dead if I hadn't come across a river. My jaw dropped once I saw the trickling water, flowing between the rocks. It was quite peaceful when you look at it until you hear footsteps behind you.

When I turned around to see what it was but there was no one there. I felt my heart racing then and made a run for it. I kept running and running towards the same direction, but no matter how far I ran I could still hear the footsteps ever so close to me.

It took me a few seconds before I suddenly stopped and grabbed my tennis racket out of my bag, ready to attack the creature behind me. But it turns out it wasn't a creature that I had confronted with.

"Who are you and what's your status!" She shouted.

I stood there in shock of what was happening. I didn't expect to see anyone of my kind to be in this world too. It caught me off-guard until she started to aim her crossbow located around her right wrist towards me.

"Woah easy with that, I'm not an enemy" I replied back, hoping she would lower her crossbow at me.

She looked at me for a moment before realizing something that I couldn't figure out. It was creepy when she started to walk around, examining me from head to toe. Her expressions changed and she looked back to my eyes.

"Who are you?" She asked.

I stood there and introduced myself to her.

"I'm Anne Boonchuy, nice to meet you stranger" I said with a smile. Of course as a human, I lend my hand out waiting for her to shake it.

Though it completely became awkward when she stared at it instead of shaking it. I cleared my throat and awkwardly pulled my hand away from her.

It was quiet at first but I finally broke the awkwardness around us and asked who she was and why was she here in this crazy and bizarre world. Thankfully she answered all my questions and revealed her name as Marcy.

"It's not very common to see anyone like you around here. I mean it's quite fascinating to see someone else other than me and a friend of mine in amphibia"

Right after that, I started to warm up to marcy and began a conversation about the stories of amphibia and about ourselves. Marcy was actually a nice, warm-hearted girl with an intellectual brain and a reckless human.

Though I'm still not one-hundred percent sure whether she knows what a human even is. I mean... she's technically is one but she makes it seem like she's not.

"You should definitely meet my father and best friend once we get to newtopia"

"Newtopia?" I questioned her.

She started blabbering about newtopia and the history of it. Obviously I didn't pay much attention to every detail, but I knew what it was by shortening her sentences out. It's just like taking small notes at class back at school.

I really do need to find my way back home to mum and dad.

But for now... I'll just settle in with a new friend that I just made. Maybe there's a lot I can learn while I'm here, who knows what's waiting for me in the shadows.

It will be quite an adventure for me for sure...
