(6) The Beginning

Marcy's Pov

After several days of flying, we have finally made it to my lovely home... Newtopia.

I jumped off joe sparrow, unfortunately landing on the ground face flat. I stood back on my feet and greeted the wonderful smell of the ocean. Anne walked beside me and together we stared at the beautiful scene of the city.

"You weren't kidding when you said newtopia was big" Anne said,

I laughed and intertwined my hand with hers as we ran across the water towards the gates of the city. Once we were in front of it, I called for the gatekeepers to open the door and they slowly opened them, revealing a bunch of people waiting for us on the other side.

"Wait, since when did they-,"

"Long story short, I gave word to my father about you a few days back so now everyone knows about you coming to Newtopia" I replied.

Anne nodded her head and we continued our way through the crowd where everyone started to ask Anne a lot of questions about where she was from and how she got here. Of course we couldn't answer that just yet to the citizens and ignored them until we made it to the castle.

Thank frog.

"Okay, so... how should I greet your father?" Anne nervously asked.

I stared at Anne for a bit and told her to just act normal but she didn't seem too confident about meeting with the king. To be honest, I know that feeling whenever I bring someone to meet my father.

But there's nothing to be nervous about. He's just a chill, giant salamander who is actually fun to hang around with if you get to know him.

"Don't be nervous Anne, I'm gonna be there with you okay?" I said as I tightened our hands together.

She took a few deep breaths before the two of us entered where we were greeted by lady Olivia who immediately hugged me saying that she was glad I returned home safe and sound. I hugged her back before we pulled away and smiled at each other.

She then looked over to Anne and greeted her as well with a warm welcome. Anne bowed down to her before she began to take us through the castle.

We made our way to the throne room where the guards opened the door revealing my father and coincidentally my best friend in all of amphibia, lieutenant Sasha, talking to each other.

"Oh my frog, sash is that you?!" I shouted in excitement.

I let go of Anne's hand and ran towards Sasha to hug her. Sasha hugged me back tightly and the two of us stayed in the same position before pulling ourselves away from the warmth of our bodies.

"Girl, look at your hair!"

"Yeah I know... don't know if it looks good on me" Sasha replied.

I told her that it suited her before father interrupted us and asked me about Anne, who was looking at me and Sasha with a rather strange expression planted on her face.

"So, you're the creature that has been lurking around Wartwood?" The king asked.

Anne stared at me for a while before putting her attention to the king and answering to every questions he asked afterwards. While they had their own private conversation, Sasha and I headed outside on the balcony and started telling each other what we did for the past few weeks.

"You could've seen it, if it wasn't for Percy I wouldn't even be here" Sasha said.

She continued to tell me her stories while I got distracted about what father and Anne could be talking about in private.

Speaking of Anne, she didn't seem too happy when she saw me with Sasha. I don't know if I was hallucinating or whatever, but looking at her face earlier, she seemed pretty upset about something.

"Hey mar-mar, you okay?" Sasha interrupted me.

I snapped out of my thoughts and responded that I was okay and she gave me a nod and told me that the other human has been waiting by the door for a while. I turned around and noticed that Anne was standing there with her arms crossed.

"Oh Anne, sorry if I didn't notice you there" I said as I went up to her.

She grunted a response and immediately left my side only to confuse me with why she acted so grumpy towards me. Then father came by to ask me if Anne could sleep in my room tonight. He was going to get another room replenished for her by tomorrow so it was just for tonight that she could stay in my room.

Of course I agreed and led Anne to my room where she started to unpack her stuff on the floor. I told her that she could sleep on my bed but she turned down there  offer and said that she'll sleep on the floor instead.

"Anne, I insist. I don't think you've had a comfortable sleep in a while"

"Well I'm just doing fine sleeping on the ground thank you very much" Anne replied.

Now I'm very confused, why is Anne acting like this towards me? Just before we entered the castle she was acting like her usual self, but now she's acting as if I did something wrong.

I asked her if she was okay but she ignored me and continued to unpack her things. Now I'm more curious than ever.

"Anne, please tell me what's wrong" I asked.

No response again and I had no choice but to go with my other plan. I crept up behind her before I jumped on her back and tackled her until I managed to pin her on the ground while facing me. We stared at each other for a bit before Anne pushed me off her and switched our positions till she was on top of me.

"What are you doing Marcy?" Anne asked.

I laughed and told her that if she doesn't tell me what's inside her head, then I would have to annoy her like this till she does. Anne went quiet before giving me an answer that she was okay. I didn't wanna believe it but she seemed sincere by the look on her face.

"Sorry if I ignored you earlier" Anne said as she stood up and helped me.

"Don't worry about it Anne, I'll always be here if you need me okay?" I said.

She nodded and we both changed into our sleeping wears before choosing where we would sleep tonight. Anne decided she'll still sleep on the floor but before she could, I grabbed her hand and pulled her into the bed and hugged her tightly.

Anne was about to say another word but I told her to go to sleep. She didn't move for while until she later wrapped her arm around me before we both drifted off to sleep.

Unknown Pov

Soon the plan for the invasion will commence and the power of the music box shall be within my grasp. But first, we must recharge the stones and make sure that everything goes according to plan.

The prophecy won't stop us and I will make sure of it. For now, enjoy your time here...

Man, it's been a few days since I've last updated but I am back with another update on the book. (Also this chapter was a bit rushed, might fix it later but idk :P)

Kind of been busy with ideas for the story and school work but there's nothing to worry about. Also thank you for guys for reading and I'll see you on the next update!
