Anne's Pov

Lately I've been noticing how differently Marcy's been acting for a while now. I don't know whether it's something else or it's got to do with her dream she told me about yesterday.

I'm starting to feel scared of how much she hasn't been talking like she usually does and the fact that she panics if I approached her without her knowing.

As I walked towards Marcy, I asked her whether she was okay for the twentieth time today and she responded with a yes. She's such a horrible liar and she knows that.

"Marcy, if you have something in your head that's bothering you, you know you can always tell me about it. Remember that I'm always here if you need me" I said.

Marcy took a few minutes before replying with a nod. Looking at her, I sighed and thought about her dream. Marcy explained to me about how her parents were there and then King Andrias, her foster father.

I might sound crazy, but I think this King has got to do something with Marcy's parent from the past. I don't know what it is but hearing his name gave me shiver down my spine.

But like I said it would be crazy to think that way. Plus, I haven't even met the dude in person so I should stop thinking badly of him before I get to know him.

Afterwards, me and Marcy decided that we should take a break for a while and that was when I finally asked Marcy if we could talk about it. But that changed tremendously when I saw her tears becoming visible down her cheeks.

I quickly hugged the girl beside me feeling sorry at the thought of how much she's been going through after what happened last night.

Was it really just a dream and all made up?

Or is this really a memory that was part of her past?

"Anne, I can't remove the scene from my head. I'm starting to feel like it wasn't a dream anymore"

Marcy said, I held the girl between my arms tightly and told her that everything was going to be fine. The fact that she doesn't remember anything about her past and why she transported here must be rough to leave it unanswered.

Do you think that if I hadn't asked her about how she got here in amphibia last night, she wouldn't have to go through like this as she is right now?

"Marcy, I know it's really hard for you to process all of this, but know that me, your best friend, your foster father, and everyone you've known in your entire life is here for you no matter what" I said, giving her a kiss on her forehead which seemed to help her calm down a little bit.

Later that same day, Marcy was feeling a lot better and started to feel like herself again. I smiled happily at her observing every plant we walked passed and creatures we were flying above from. For the past few days, I've really grown fond of Marcy.

I don't know what it is but I get butterflies in my stomach whenever I see her smile and I feel my heart beating fast when she gets too close to me.

You might say 'Ur gay', and to be honest with you... I think I am.

Before on earth, I always told myself that I was straight and it's true, I didn't like girls back then. Probably because my other friends thought that it was disgusting and I didn't want to be casted out for being gay.

Fortunately for me, I never thought of it that way. I think it's beautiful, loving someone you really love and not be ashamed of whatever gender they are.

My days here in amphibia has taught me a few things that I could never learn and do back home and I am happy that there isn't anyone here that could judge me about it.

"Hey Anne, I just wanna say thank you"

"Huh? For what?" I asked.

She took a few steps forward to me and suddenly, she kissed me on the cheek. I blinked a few times and looked at Marcy who was blushing. This has got to be a dream, right? But when I felt Marcy's hands onto mine, I realised this wasn't a dream at all.

"For earlier, I was just shocked about the whole thing from last night and I was so... lost. But you were there when I didn't need you to. Personally, I think this is the very first time someone has ever asked me if I was okay. Sure, father and Sasha were always concerned of me but you're the only one that never gave up asking on me so... thank you"

Marcy said as she smiled at me, I blushed back at her and said that it was no problem, and besides... that's what a good friend would do right?

The whole afternoon we spent hours flying or walking whenever joe sparrow got really tired. We talked a little bit more about ourselves and stumbled across a few mishaps along the way.

In conclusion, it was back to our normal routine. Although it was still stuck in our heads, we continued to ignore it by talking with each other until we finally made it to our last stop before Newtopia.

"I can't believe how much we've grown together during this mission"

"Yeah, it only felt like days, months even, since we first met in the forest" I said, still surprised that we've come a long way.

Marcy agreed, she started to set up the campfire while I placed our sleeping bags on the ground. Once we finished, I stared at the beautiful scenery in front of us and took a deep breath of fresh air. Marcy joined in after and giggled when I accidentally choked on a firefly that so happened to fly into my mouth while breathing.

"That tasted horrible!"

"It won't be if you at least tried some bugs. You've literally ran out of your earth food along the way"

Marcy said as she tried to convince me to eat a bug that she had pulled out from the ground. I was a little hesitant about it, but I gave in and grabbed the bug from Marcy's hand. I stared at the critter for a few seconds before I opened my mouth and shoved the bug inside. It took me a few seconds to process the taste of it before I realised that it was actually not that bad.

"Oh wow, I never thought bugs could actually taste so good!" I exclaimed.

Marcy chuckled at me before she went ahead and got ourselves more bugs for dinner. The rest of the night went smoothly as I expected and we stared at the stars and moon together side by side. I felt her hand intertwine with mine and I squeezed it tightly while giving her a warm smile. I wish we could stay like this forever, but tomorrow we'll be arriving to Newtopia which means I would have to eventually go back to earth.

The thought saddened me for a bit, until I noticed that Marcy had already fallen asleep. I slowly moved forward and kissed her on the forehead once more before lying back down and dozing off to sleep.
