A few days earlier before they met...

Marcy's Pov

When morning came, I headed downstairs towards the dining table and greeted Lady Olivia with a good morning. She greeted me back with a smile before she headed out of the dining table as I started eating my food.

Right after breakfast, I went back upstairs to wash my face and put on my usual clothes and weapons on before walking outside of my room and into the throne room to greet my adoptive father. He smiled at me before kneeling down to greet me a warm good morning as well.

"Good to see that you're ready for your mission as always, marcy"

"Of course, your highness"

I said while bowing my head a little. He let out a chuckle of laughter before telling me not to call him that. Mostly because I was his adopted daughter.

It sounds weird to think that a human would get adopted by a giant newt, but to be honest with you, it isn't as bad as you think it is. The king has always been there for me when I was a little kid and ever since then he took me under his wing.

He was the only person, or newt, to ever care about me. Lady olivia and general yunnan were there for me too, but it was always king andrias that looked out for me at all times. He showed care for someone that didn't fit in with them and he still took her in as his own.

You don't know how much it would hurt me if one day he gets hurt or even worse killed without my concern.

"Well then, let's get started with your mission. I've been hearing gossips about a strange creature roaming around frog valley that I need you to investigate for me"

He said as he walked back to his throne and sat on it. I lifted my head up from bowing before asking him for the rest of the other details that I needed to know.

He filled it all on me and said that the weird creature were scaring off frogs all over town causing our supplies of food to arrive late than their usual timetable.

I've encountered many creatures before so this should be a cinch.

"But be very careful marcy, I don't want you hurting yourself like last time you went on a mission like this"

He said with a hint of worry in both his voice and facial expression. I looked at him and reassured him that I would be extra careful on this mission I was about to depart on.

He gave me yet another smile of relief before calling his guards to prepare the things that I was going to need for my mission.

Well, let's see what this strange creature is all about...

Back to the present...

Who would've thought that another human, other than me and sasha would appear in amphibia?

Anne Boonchuy...

She's a strange one for sure but she has the spirit of a good-hearted person. She also seems to love having conversations about her home in a world called 'Earth'.

Never heard of it but it seems like it's somehow got to do with me and sasha since we're both humans like her.

"And then domino bit my dad's foot and it caused him to scream so loud that our neighbours legit called the cops cause they thought a girl was in trouble"

"Wow, this earth is strange" I said, still fascinated to hear more about her crazy stories.

She was showing me something using some sort of gadget that I've never seen in amphibia before and wondered what it was and what it does.

"Did you trap them inside?"

"What- no... this is called a 'picture'... we don't trap them inside silly" she replied with a giggle.

I was still confused about how it worked but I got easily distracted by some flowers we were passing by. Anne seemed to have taken an interest on them as well so we both stopped to look at them for a moment.

"Wow, I've never seen such beautiful flowers before"

"Yeah, they say that these are actually the most rarest flowers to find. Only the bravest who would dare to go inside the forests of frog valley will be able to see these"

I said, picking one flower from the bush and placing it behind anne's right ear. In all honesty, the flower suited her pretty well if I say so myself. She asked me how she looked and I replied back saying that she looked beautiful.

I don't know whether I should be concerned of her after what I said or just leave it as it is.

Her face turned red and she quickly looked the other way to avoid any eye contact with me. As for me, I didn't pay much attention to it and stood up without overthinking it.

We continued to walk for another few hours until we finally made it to our stop.

"Welcome to wartwood Anne Boonchuy. The local frogs here are friendly, but since they haven't met you before they'll probably start panicking once they see you so be extra careful not to show them any harm"

Anne nodded and we continued to walk into a shop to refill my bag with worms for my bird, joe sparrow.

"Oh marcy, here to grab some delicious worms for your bird?"

The owner of the shop greeted me as usual. I waved my hand to him while anne slowly revealed herself behind me causing the little frog to freak out immediately once he saw her.

"It's okay, she's a very good friend of mine. She won't bite" I said, hoping that he would calm him down a bit.

After settling down, he gave me the worms I needed and we both headed outside his shop towards where joe sparrow was resting. Anne looked a little uncomfortable and told me about how the owner of the shop reacted to seeing her.

I explained to her that it will take some time for her to be accepted here in wartwood but she fell into silence without answering me back. Once we arrived, I called out for joe and he slowly came out of his hiding place and greeted me with a chirp.

I gave him his worms and he started to eat them while me and anne waited around for his energy to return. We both sat down under a nearby tree and stared at the clouds above us.

"So... when did you land here in amphibia?" I started another conversation with her.

She took a few moments to think about it and replied that it's been a few weeks since she randomly got transported here. She didn't know about anything else other than a box that she's been holding onto since her arrival.

"I don't know what it does, but I think it's the reason why I ended up here"

Anne said as she brushed the dirt off it and sighed. It seems like she really wants to go back to her home. Must be painful being away from everything you love, huh?

If I was in her shoes, I'd probably feel the same way.

"Don't worry anne, you got me and many others here to help you get back home" I reassured her.

She stared at me for a minute before tears rippled down her eyes. I was then pulled into a hug and realized that the girl beside me was hugging me. I was in complete shock if you ask me.

"Thank you marcy" she said.

I sat there frozen for a few seconds before hugging her back without hesitating. This was the start of a friendship that would change my life forever.
