It felt to Bennett as if time was flying by. He and Cory spent as much of their free time together as possible. Between lessons, football practice and Bennett's violin schedule, the moments were sometimes few and far between.
He was grateful that his friends were more comfortable around Cory, accepting him as part of Bennett's life. Blue was still suspicious, but made peace, after giving him another death threat.
"Are you all coming to the game on Friday?" Cory asked, looking at Bennett. Even though he was supposed finish a math assignment, he couldn't let the opportunity of being with Bennett go by, even if he had to share him.
"What the fuck for?" Blue asked, propping herself up on the couch.
They were all gathered at Bennett's as usual. According to Victor, the food was better than he got at home and he didn't have to clean up after himself, so it was a double win for him.
"It's not like you'll be able to see any of us in that crowd of screaming morons.""I don't need to see you morons. I just need to see one person..." Cory smiled at Bennett, a slight blush on his face. He wasn't even sure that Bennett would go. It's not as if the football team held happy memories for him. But he held his breath. He wanted to show Bennett what he was good at and it would be a major game, so the stakes were high.
"Jesus, you guys are gross!" she gagged.
"Yes, we'll go," Bennett said. He was only doing this for Cory, knowing how important it was for him. He felt that letting Cory in, meant loving everything about him, even football... After all, Cory has been putting up with him playing most of the time.
"I'll drive us all through!" Victor said rubbing his hands together in anticipation. "Party after?"
"You know it's only a lot of smelly, sweaty dudes kicking a ball around from one side to the other, right? Not exactly rocket science, but I suppose to each their own." Blue made her displeasure known, squinting at Bennett.
"Don't you dare say it!" Blue exclaimed, spotting the look on Cory's face, as he opened his mouth to speak.
"Playing with balls may not be rocket science, but it sure feels good," he retorted, lewdly smiling at Bennett, who felt the heat flush his face.
"Ugh! Fuck off..." she threw a cushion at Cory's head, which he caught with ease. "Actually, no don't. I don't need to be scarred for life!"
"How is it you're grossed out by sex, but you swear like a sailor?" Cory asked, wondering if she ever spoke without cussing.
"I'm not grossed out by sex. Only you!" she countered
Cory's phone rang, bringing an end to their squabbling. He quickly got up to take it, moving to the kitchen.
Tyler: Hi Cory!" One of the twins, shouted over the line.
Cory: Hey Tyler. What's up?
Tyler: Not much. Mason is over at his girlfriend's and I thought we could hang out this afternoon.
Cory: "Hold on, let me check something quickly." he frowned. He wasn't sure how Tyler would like hanging out with Bennett and his mates again.
"Bennett!" he called, poking his head into the sitting room, his phone clutched against his chest to mute the sound. "Is it okay for Tyler to come hang out with us?"
"Sure, if you're okay with it." Bennett responded.
Returning the phone to his ear, Cory gave Tyler the address.
When the doorbell rang, Cory jumped up to let him in. Stepping into the living room, he waved lazily to the others, throwing a mischievous wink at Bennett.
"Missus." he snorted good naturedly.
