"Cory?" What are you doing in my room?" It was six in the morning and Cory was standing in front of his bed, holding the sheets in his hands, having pulled them off Bennett to wake him.

"How did you get into the house anyway" he rubbed his eyes sleepily, trying to shield them from the bright light.

"Your mum gave me a spare. She's really cool, isn't she?" he marvelled at Bennett. "I mean whose mum gives their teenage kid's boyfriend a key to the house?" he mused further. "Not that I'm complaining or anything..."

"That woman will be the death of me." Bennett mumbled sitting up. "And, since you're not my boyfriend, you can give me the key now." he held out his hand expectantly to Cory.

"What? NO! Your mum gave this to me, not you. So, I don't have to give anything back." He looked over at Bennett with a frown. "It's rude to take a gift back you know..." he tapped his finger on Bennett's forehead. "And anyway, I'm going to be your boyfriend soon!" Cory grinned knowingly.

"Whatever." Bennett mumbled grumpily. "Where are we going?"

"It's a surprise dummy!" he rolled his eyes at Bennett.

Just after seven they took to the road. Cory wanted to blindfold Bennett for the duration of the drive, but threatening Cory with withholding sex, soon got him singing a different tune.

"You're getting more devious than Red, you know that?" he looked over at Bennett half smiling. "I don't think you should be hanging out with her anymore."

"What's this?" Bennett stopped him as they pulled up to of a small music store. Cory grinned, got out of the car and held open the door for him.

"We're getting you a new violin!" he grinned as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.

"Eh, I don't have the money and I really don't feel like looking at instruments right now." he sighed looking at the storefront.

"Ugh! We'll worry about money once we find one you like. As your boyfriend and manager, it's my duty to make sure that you have only the best." he nodded down at Bennett with a big smile on his face.

"You're still not my boyfriend, because you never asked, but maybe I should try you out as a manager and take you around the block for a test drive." he mused.

"Oh, I think you've taken me around the block more than few times already!" Cory wiggled his eyebrows lustily at Bennett. "And what do you mean I've never asked? I've been asking since day one!" he frowned.

"No, you asked to be friends. You never said anything about boyfriends." He reasoned.

"What do you think we've been doing this whole time?" He asked incredulously. Surly Bennett was joking. They've been dating all this time and now he's not even in boyfriend space. Where the hell did their wires get crossed?

"Dating does not imply boyfriend."

"Are you serious right now?" his eyes widened in surprise. "Come on," he groaned, realising he wasn't going to win against Bennett's logic, no matter how flawed it was to a reasonable person.

The first few shops they looked at didn't have what Bennett was looking for. After deciding on having breakfast before they continue, they stopped at a waffle shop. Bennett was really surprised at how different Cory was these days. He didn't seem like the bully he had known before and even though the sex between them was great, he wasn't sure if Cory was boyfriend material. He talked a big game, but like every other teenage boy, they liked the sex and the idea of a relationship but didn't know or understand what one was.

"Okay, this is the last one. If there is nothing here, then we'll continue the search next week, until we find what you are looking for." he rubbed his hand together in excitement.
