Former Soviet Union

Yelena and Natasha - her two greatest supporters, both gone from her life, for good.

So she was alone.

Still reeling after Yelena's death - not Natasha's, for if she'd really wanted her gone, she would have made sure of it - Sascha was on a vengeful conquest.

More Widows to track down find and free - she had a lot of work to do and she was alone. She had no other choice.

She had a lot of work to do. And first, she was starting on a personal note, a very personal note  - an even more personal note.

Tracking down Dreykov's Widows felt less impactful without Yelena there at her side during the mission. As Nat had said, Yelena should have been the one to tell them it was all over.

But fate had had other ideas for them. If only fate had been kinder.

SMASH!

The man went flying through the large glass window of the laboratory when she shoved him - with her enhanced strength it didn't take much.

She'd managed to track him down, the scientist behind the whole - well the most completed version - of the whole cloning program of Princess Anastasia Romanova, the original Black Widow, during the late Cold War era.

The cloning of her.

He wasn't very good at hiding, apparently. She had tracked him down easily, a testament to her skill. Anastasia, Tatiana, Ilana, and Sascha were all an excellent tracker.

"You've made my job a lot harder, Doctor. And I don't like that. Not very much at all. How many are there out there?" she demanded, standing over him and pinning him to the ground with a foot on his chest. How many others? That seemed to always be in question when dealing with Widows, apparently no matter from what era they came.

He shook and held up his hands in surrender. "I don't know - the unsuccessful ones outnumbered the successes-"

She struck him across the face, promptly cutting him off.  "Princess Kalyna of Sokovia, Agent Liv Sword of S.H.I.E.L.D. - am I a clone of them, or are they a clone of me? Quite a big project, Doctor-" She sneered the title.  "-Cloning the last Russian princess."

"It's not clones, not in this case."

"What else could it be?"

"I'm not sure, but it's not that. They're not clones - they're not clones of you, not clones of anyone-"

BANG!

She shot him, dead.

Well, that hadn't been very helpful. She was still at the beginning of the search, of her search.

Well, now the mad scientist behind it all was gone, but the outreach was already in effect, with Widows - clones of herself - embedded all over the world, just like the vast majority of Dreykov's Widows.

Yeah, this was only the beginning. She had a lot of work to do.

(It's a shorter chapter, I know... But I also know  that I said in the previous chapter that this would be the last chapter, but SURPRISE! I've decided to break up the last chapter into two, yay! ;) Wanted to add some mystery with this chapter for my Infinity War, Endgame, and Falcon and Winter Soldier stories!

Thank you so much for reading and I hope you enjoyed as always! :) See you in the last chapter!)
