Azula
"Are you okay? Azula?" I snap out of my thoughts and look towards Dr. Lim,
"Yes. I'm fine. I take it you've heard about..."
"Yes. How's Aang doing?"
"As well as you could expect, I suppose. I'm... trying my best to be there for him," I say, relaxing my posture a bit.
"That's good, Azula. You've definitely come a long way. Now you're making friends and helping them when they need you,"
"Um, yes... about that..."
"Mm?"
"Aang and I kissed. A few times actually..."
"Oh?" Dr. Lim says, her face becoming curious, "Do you love him?"
My eyes widen,
"No! Of course not... it's far too early," she laughs at this,
"I was only teasing, Azula,"
"Right... of course.... but none of that even matters right now. I need to be there for Aang. He'll be organising Gyatso's funeral soon. I should see him, right? Offer a helping hand? What do you think, doc?" I ask.
Dr. Lim just looks at me with a knowing smile before sighing,
"I think you know what you need to do. You don't need my advice with this, Azula." I give her a slight smile.
"Very well. I will see him right now. Thank you, Dr. Lim." I say, getting up from the couch.
"You're welcome, Azula,"
The ride to Aang's felt a lot quicker than usual. I guess I've been daydreaming since I barely even notice that we've stopped until Suki knocks on the window on my side of the car. Arriving to Aang's floor, we don't bother to knock before stepping inside. Aang was there talking to some business lady,
"The embalming will be an extra fee. On top of the coffin and buriel,"
Aang nods repeatedly,
"I know," he snaps, "Sorry. Yes, it's fine. I'm not concerned about the money,"
"Oh. Hello," Suki greets, making Aang look over to us,
"What're you guys doing here?"
"I'm just here to drop Azula off and to see how you're doing," Suki says, making me blush as Aang stares at me with an unreadable expression,
"Um, we can pick this up another time," the lady says, gathering her things and walking out after giving Aang a short goodbye.
"I know this might be a stupid question, but are you okay?" Suki asks,
"I'm... getting by. Organising his funeral is a good distraction,"
Suki gives him a small smile,
"Well, I gotta get to work now. D'you need me to pick you up?" Suki asks me,
"No, I'm good. Thanks," I say.
We bid each other farewell and with that, Suki's out the door, leaving just me and Aang,
"Hey," Aang gets my attention, "no offense, but why are you here?"
Yikes,
"I just... I thought you'd need a friend..."
"Right. Friend," he says, smiling slightly,
"Aang-"
"You hungry? I make a mean veggie lasagna,"
