When we've arrived at the building, I took a deep breath before deciding to get in with Mingyu and Wonwoo. They're my parents, yet why do I feel anxious and scared ?

The secretary of my family brought us to the meeting room. I should know, I've been here quite a lot so I do know about almost everything here ESPECIALLY that I was actually supposed to be the next one in heir for this company.

"Mr and Mrs Kim would be here shortly after. They have something to take care of for a while" said the secretary as they left

"As expected from a wealthy family" Wonwoo chuckled

"Yours are as wealthy as mine, what do you mean" I squinted my eyes

"What ?? Yours are definitely more rich than mine" said Wonwoo

"Whatevs" I rolled my eyes

"That aside, I've been wondering Mingyu oppa" I turned to Mingyu

"Hm ?" Mingyu responded

"Why are you working with Wonwoo oppa ?? I mean, don't your family also own a company ??" I asked

"Mom and dad allowed me to choose whatever I want to do and I just felt comfortable with Wonwoo hyung around. That's why" he replied

"So that means your sister would be in charge after that ?" I asked and Mingyu nodded

"Okay, understandable" I responded

"What about this agency though ?? I mean, you were supposed to be the one in charge right ??" Wonwoo asked

"I'm guessing my brother ??? Or maybe my sister ??? She told me she's working here now so probably her. Or maybe they're passing it down to the secretary temporarily ?? Honestly I do not know and I wish to not know about it. It's COMPLICATED" I replied

"I mean that does sounds complicated so I'm not blaming you" said Mingyu

"Trust me it is" I sighed

"Like everything about my family is complicated anyways" I added and suddenly the door to the meeting room opened which made me jumped a bit

"Good afternoon-- Oh, I wasn't expecting to see you two with her" said mother once she stepped into the room.

Of course, the three of us greeted both of my parents. FORMALLY.

You see, my mom is overly strict when it comes to attitude. Your attitude at workplace and home should be different. In this building, it doesn't matter if you're just a worker, a visitor, or even a cleaner, if you know them, you BETTER be formal.

Family member or not, in this building you have to be formal to her and really polite as if you're a stranger. Weird, I know but that's how things are.

"Why aren't you two at work ? A day off ?" Mother asked Mingyu and Wonwoo

"Something like that. We took a day off to look after Sooyoung" Wonwoo replied

"Oh ? Why though ? She's obviously an adult and she's able to look after herself. You didn't have to take a day off just for her" said mother and honestly, none of us are surprised.

Even if father says anything, she'd just scold him back. We live in a really strict household and she is really controlling. I'm used to it but, of course her words pierced right through my heart. Like... She's my mother, someone who gave birth to me...

"Just because she's an adult, doesn't mean she doesn't need someone to look after her. We're only taking a day off to help out Joshua, her husband since he is occupied today, that's all" Mingyu explained.

I could tell he was trying his best to be as polite as possible.

"I see. Sophia Kim, it'd be preferable if you behave for them. They've specifically took a day off just for you so do behave and do not trouble them in any ways. Understand ?" she looked at me. Her gaze was really sharp and I could tell she wants to scold me right away but kept her cool

"Understood." I replied shortly

We then had like a 30 minutes conversation before she, had to leave for a meeting in another room which left the three of us with my father

"It's alright, you guys can talk casually now that Sohyun's left" said father as he let out of a chuckle

"Gosh, I've forgotten on how aunt Sohyun is really strict" said Mingyu as he let out a sigh of relieved

"True that. She seems to get way stricter than before though" said Wonwoo

"She's just keeping it professional. I don't really get her too sometimes so I don't blame you guys" he laughed

"Please don't take anything that your mother said to heart okay ?? She's still worried about you, don't worry" said father as he pats my head softly with a gentle smile plastered onto his face

"Joshua have told us about what happened and I'm really sorry that had happened to you. After all, it's not easy to get a child. It's not your fault that you've lost it. Nobody was expecting it as well so I really hope this wouldn't break your spirit" he added

"You're a strong daughter of mine, I'm sure you'd be able to go through it" he kissed my cheek and honestly I felt like breaking down.

"But... Is mother really accepting of it...? I mean... By the way she said those things to Wonwoo oppa and Mingyu oppa earlier she sounded... Y'know, angry...?" I asked

"You know how Sohyun is Sooyoung. It's working hour, she's always like this. She's also very very egotistic, so it's obvious she's gonna be like this. But of course, she's really worried about your condition now, it's just that she doesn't show it. She's a woman too, she knows how hard it is to actually get a child, so cheer up okay ??" father replied, reassuring me that everything's alright

"I might have to leave since I have something to deal with, so I'm guessing I'd contact you when I could okay ?? Take care, the three of you that is" said father as he stood up

"I'll ask Hyungmin to escort the three of you out" he added as he sent a text message to Hyungmin ssi, the secretary from earlier

He bids his farewell and we bid ours to him. After waiting for a while, Hyungmin ssi came into the room and escorted us out. He wished us for a safe trip and we left shortly after.

Now that the visit to my parents' are done, time to visit my in laws next. I'm hoping it wouldn't be like earlier or I'm seriously gonna cry.
