It had been 4 months since their introduction. Felix had hung around her often but otherwise kept up his stoic and slightly distant act.

He told himself he would not be won over. Not when she brought him strawberry macaroons. Not when he glanced out the corner of his eye towards her, sketching beautifully, eyeing the sophisticated and well-crafted design produced in her sketchbook. Not when she flashed those bright smiles at him, certainly not then.

'It was all a fluke,' he told himself, despite their initial encounter. One of these days, she expected him to crack, and when he did, she'd be there to take advantage of it and use him for whatever she possibly had planned. It's happened before, so it's bound to happen again.

At least, that's what he believed.

So he pretended to be unbothered each time she smiled his way, giggled at his bluntness, sat with him, talked with him, did silent work in the library with him. It was fine. He was fine. It didn't bother him.

"Felix?"

"hm?"

The blunette took in a deep breath. "would you like to, uh, come to my place after school?"

"to do more work?" he asked.

"Um, no. Just t-to hand out. Y'know. Like friends do?"

Felix's brows furrowed at that word. friends? she'd never called him her friend before. Why did that feel so good but not enough at the same time?

"You want to just...hang out? With me?"

Marinette blushed. "I-I mean you don't have to! I just thought we could do something else other than just-"

"Yes," he responded, cutting her off from rambling.

"huh!?"

"I said yes. I would like to hang to with you"

Marinette seemed to beam at his response, a feeling of relief washing over her.

"Ok! do you play video games?" she asked. He had to refrain from smiling at the twinkle in her eyes and that enthusiastic look. No one has ever acted this way when it comes to spending time with him. Kind of why he's never really had a friend.

"Once. it's not something that I find much interest in"

"Well, that'll change today!"

Felix grimaced. "Do not tell me you plan on making me play video games" Marinette grinned at him and nodded.

From a distance

"Ugh, just look at her" Alya spat. "Of course she's with the new guy. She's all over him and it's only been four months"

"That Felix guy isn't even a nice person anyway. He's also hating on Lila for no valid reason" Alix said shaking her head.

Adrien looked at the pair who were at the other end of the hall at their own table. He felt a pang of jealousy every time he saw them together. He didn't understand why Marinette was around him so much. She was completely ignoring them now. Didn't she want to make amends with her friends? Why couldn't she take his advice on keeping quiet about Lila and just apologise? That way, everything could go back to the way it was with her being their everyday Ladybug. Lila honestly wasn't hurting anyone. Marinette was just giving herself unnecessary problems because she wouldn't listen to him.

To make things worse, she was hanging around his cousin. The coldest, rudest and moodiest person he's ever met in his opinion. He must be rubbing off on Marinette. That must be why she barely spares them a glance, whether they're in class or just passing each other.
