"Argh again!" Marinette whined. "I thought you said you don't play video games"
Felix smirked triumphantly at the girl. "That is true. But I'll admit, I am quite skilled at Mario Kart, more so when I play as Luigi. Much like you are with MS3."
"Hmph. And here I was thinking that I would destroy you at this game too. You had me fooled"
Felix chuckled lightly. "Perhaps, would you like to go again?"
"No thanks," Marinette groaned. I think that being defeated 13 times already is enough. I've never felt so let down by Baby Peach before"
"My mother would usually pick her too when I used to play with her"
"Oh. Why did you stop anyway?"
"Playing?" Marinette nodded. "I kind of...grew out of it I suppose. I was more focused on my education"
"You can never grow out of Mario Kart. Even when your old and grey!" She giggled. Felix let out a chuckle as well as he grabbed another macaroon.
He was enjoying this. As much as he hated to admit it. Here he was, playing games with this girl he seemed to be entertaining. He had made it quite clear when he joined the school that he wasn't looking to befriend anyone or wanting to be befriended.
If his mother hears that he's spent the last 3 hours talking, playing games and eating sweet treats with Marinette - a girl - he'll never bear the end of it. She'd be overly happy for him and rub it in his face that he did make a friend after all.
Flashback: a month ago
"Mother honestly, I do not see why you are making me go to school. Even worse, it's a public school"
Amelie sighed. "You need to socialise. You can't stay cooped up in this estate forever"
"Of course I won't stay here forever, I just don't want to go to school!" Felix huffed.
"Your cousin Adrien attends that school. You won't be in your own"
"I do not tolerate Adrien mother, you know that. Knowing this just makes this whole thing so much worse!" He grumbled looking out of the window.
"Sweetheart..." Amelie started, placing a hand on his shoulder causing him to look at her. "I'm making you go for you. I want you to be around people your age and learn with them too. You are nearly 18 for Pete's sake!"
"I was fine with the tutors"
"Felix" Amelie's voice became more stern. "You are going to go to school and make at least one friend" the Limo came to a stop. They'd arrived.
"You seem confident about that" Amelie just chuckled and kissed her son's cheek before he stepped out of the limo.
"Trust me mother, I'm not going to make friends with anyone nor will I like anyone here to begin with."
Amelie gave him an all-knowing smile which made him feel a bit uneasy. Like she knew something he didn't. "I bet you will"
"Hm. Keep betting. It won't happen. Good day mother"
Flashback end
He chuckled at the memory. It's been just over 4 months and his mother seemed to have proved him wrong. He made a friend without even realising he did.
He knew that she suspected that someone has been taking up some of his after school time if he wasn't scheduled to do something else but she never questioned him about which was a relief for him.
