She turned around quickly and bowed her head multiple times. "I am very sorry. I didn't mean to listen to their conversation or walk around in the night. Please forgive me, your Highness."

Suddenly, she heard someone chuckle. She looked up and noticed that it wasn't the Prince who was behind her. He was tall, had dark brown eyes and short dirty blonde hair. He didn't look like a royal guard from the looks of it, but he also wasn't royalty from what she guessed. When he stopped laughing, he smiled at her, which made dimples appear on his cheeks.

Cute. Y/n thought to herself.

"Pardon me, I didn't mean to startle you." He quickly apologized with a wide grin. "It was wrong of me to sneak up on you like that."

You nodded your head lightly as you leaned on the door frame while he stood in front of you. "But still, I apologize for walking in the room. I was looking for the kitchen."

"This is the kitchen." He said.

You looked around you and realized it was actually the kitchen. It was big and spacious. It was well illuminated. It was no surprise that the kitchen had food that could last the whole town for a year. As she looks around, she couldn't help but leave her mouth open.

The said man walked away from y/n towards the gas cooker that had something cooking over it. She slowly trailed behind him as her stomach growled again. He glanced at her, a chuckle escaping from his mouth. "You must be hungry."

Heat crept to the apples of her cheeks as she stared at the ground sheepishly, "Yes, just a little."

"Unfortunately for you, I'm not the world's best cook." He giggled as he scratched the nape of his neck awkwardly. "But I make an excellent sous chef..." Y/n smiled gently at the dimpled man. "...As long as someone else does the cutting, mixing, measuring and cooking part of it." This erupted a giggle from her as she edged closer to the kitchen island. "You may take a seat you know?" The man said to her, turning his attention back to the pan on the stove as she took a seat at the kitchen counter. "So..." The man said turning to the silk clad girl with furrowed brows.

"Y/n." She responded shortly, seeing the confusion written on his face.

"What brings you to the palace Y/n? I've never seen you around here, and you surely don't look like the type Jimin will sleep with." Y/n winced at that, feeling slightly offended, and the dimpled man seemed to notice as his eyes widened in realisation.

"I mean, even if you were you wouldn't even still be here at this hour..." He tried to save himself. "I mean..."

"It's okay." Y/n cut him off with a breathy chuckle, not wanting the man to get even more flustered.

"What brings you here, basically?" His face was all red now.

"I'm kinda.... imprisoned here." She said shyly, her finger drawing small circles on the counter.

"Imprisoned?" He raised an eyebrow as he reached for a wooden spatula.

"Well, basically I saved my brother from being beheaded by the crowned prince, by agreeing to stay here for a month."

"Beheaded?" He asked. "Why would he want to behead your brother?"

"Taxes." Y/n answered curtly, voice monotone.

"But why would the Prince want you to stay?" This man really knew his way with way words. "I mean, why you? What did he see in you that made him want you to be in the palace?"

Y/n shrugged.

She could see that the strange man was rather inquisitive as he seemed to deliberate the 'matter', with a scrutinizing gaze towards you, before shrugging and turning away.
