This is it. The male said in his mind as he took in a deep breath and stared at his reflection in the mirror.
His brown hair was styled to his liking and his gold and black attire was obviously for someone of high status. The golden cape attached to it was long and flowing. The dressing room felt silent, as only his breathing could be heard. In fact, the whole castle was silent ever since he had sent her away. The sky was gloomier. The air was mustier. The world even seemed to have less color. Hyunjin carefully removed the pins from the prince's trousers and dusted his hands together before turning away from Jimin.
"I am all done, your highness." Hyunjin said with a bow before he began to pack up his equipment that was scattered around the floor.
"Thank you."
Hyunjin froze on the spot. He turned back to Jimin and was a bit shocked to see the expressionless face he had on. Was he actually the one who said thank you or it was someone else? He was about to turn away and continue what he was doing but he saw Jimin's lips move as the same words came out.
"Thank you for your help. I really do love the outcome."
Hyunjin smiled widely before giving a 90 degree bow and saying, "You are very much welcome, your majesty." Suddenly, there was a little knock on the door. Namjoon walked into the room with his hands behind his back and smiled lightly as he said to Jimin.
"They await your arrival, your highness."
He nodded at his advisor. Hyunjin picked up his little bag, "I shall be taking my leave now..."
"No..." Jimin came down from his pedestal with a straight face, which made Hyunjin quiver a little a bit, "please stay for the coronation." The tailor was a bit shocked. He had heard what had happened to y/n and did not really want to get on the prince's bad side. He expected him to be very angry but even if he was, he was very good at hiding it. "You have a personal invitation from me." Jimin gave a small smile, though his eyes were empty.
Hyunjin nodded his head. Who was he to deny the soon to be King's request? Namjoon led him out of the room and Jimin trailed behind them slowly as they walked through the hallway.
The coronation was to take place in Hearst Abbey. Only the prince, his royal advisor, the prince of Frelk, his advisor and 4 to 6 other guests handpicked by the prince alone were going to be present at the event. It was supposed to be a grand event where all the people of Grogia could come together and celebrate harmoniously as one but due to the news of the assassination, they believed it was best to do it behind the curtains. The knights had been warned beforehand to take serious precautions during the event. Even though it was a quiet one, they did not want any setbacks.
"Your highness, I will get the carriage." Namjoon said as Jimin nodded in understanding.
The prince stood alone in his opulent chamber, gazing out at the moon that was hanging in the dark night sky. There was no star in sight, which made the sky pitch black, just like the way he felt.
Like an empty void.
Torches flickered in the distance, casting long shadows on the palace walls, and the weight of his recent actions bore down upon him. He had ordered the imprisonment of the woman who he believed he loved, now all he can do is sulk about how betrayed he felt.
Lies.
All she did was lie to him.
Accusations of treason from Jihyo's lips echoed in his ears and it was so easy to believe them. But now, in the solitude of his thoughts, doubt gnawed at him. His mind replayed their shared memories, the moments of laughter, of trust. Could she truly have been plotting against him? He recalled the frantic conversations they'd had just that morning, the way her eyes had pleaded for understanding when she was being dragged away.
