Shelby's POV
Then it happened....It all came back. It was like my life flashed before my eyes.
(What all she saw)
I saw Caden cheating on me the first time. Me seeing Steve for the first time and going to the DX. Our walk to the park and him kissing me. Our first date. Our first time going all the way. Him being there for me when Greg was shot. All the times Evie tried to hurt me. All the times I fell asleep in Steve's arms. All the time we told each other I love you. The tattoos. The promise ring. 4th of July. Everything!! It all came back!!
(The end of it)
It was like a blurry movie. I feel complete and happy. I couldn't help but smile. Then, I remember what was happening. I jumped up.
"STEVE!!!!" I dropped down beside him.
"I remember. I remember everything. I love you. You have to be ok. I remember. You were right. Please don't leave me. I can't live without you." I sobbed into his chest. I felt someone stroking my hair it was him.
"You're alive!" I said relieved.
"Thanks to Dally." He smiled.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"Dally gave me a bullet proof vest. He thought I'd need it."
"Hmm. I owe him big time." I said.
"You remember?" He said making sure he heard me right. I smiled and nodded.
"Thank God. I missed you." He said and kissed me.

Steve's POV
(Flashback. Back to the Curtis house right after Shelby and them left)
I want to go with them! But Darry's right. About that time the door flew open. It was Dally.
"Hey Randle you're still alive. Does Greg not know yet?" He asked.
"Yeah he knows. He took off to blow off steam I guess." I said.
"So that's why Shelby and them asked if he was at Buck's."
"Yeah. Where's Skylar?"
"I took her home she was tired and drunk."
"Oh. Do you know where Shelby and them went? I really want to go after them but Darry said it'd be a better idea if I stayed incase Greg found me first."
"That's what I came to talk to you about. I snatched a bullet proof vest out the back of a cop car. I figured you'd need." Good ole Dal. Always has the right stuff at the right time.
"I think you're right. Thanks Dally." I shook his hand.
"No problem man. Let me go get it out of the car." He walked outside.

He came back in a second later with the vest.
"Here put it on. They went towards The Nightly Double." Dally threw me the vest. I slipped off my shirt and strapped it one.
"Perfect fit. Thanks."
"Yeah. Where's Johnny, Pony, and the girls?" He asked.
"The girls went home and Pony's in his bed and Johnny's in the spare room"
"Alright. I'll just stay here then. Good luck."
"Ok thanks." I said and headed out.

I found them. They stopped to catch their breath. I need to stay far enough behind them were they won't see me. I heard them talking. They decided to go to the ally to see if Greg's there. I followed them. I started hearing yelling and something caught my attention.
"See Shelby he hurt you....again." Two-bit said. Who hurt her?! And how?! I've got to go check this out. I started walking over there, not caring who saw me. When I was almost there I saw a car pull up behind them. A girl was driving. She rolled down the window. She looks so familiar. She stuck her hand out the window and she had a gun. Noooo!!! I ran to her.
"No!!" I shouted. She looked towards me and smirked. That's when it hit me. Evie. I stopped dead in my tracks. I knew what was gonna happen. BANG!! She shot me in the shoulder. I fell to the ground, hoping she'd leave. God that hurt!! Why couldn't she of hit the vest?! Next time I'm wearing a bullet proof suit. She drove up to me and got out. She walked over to me. Her heels clicked against the sidewalk. She stood over me and pointed the gun at my chest. God, please let this vest work. I heard the gang yelling, especially Shelby. Maybe if she shoots me in the head all of Shelby's problems will end. She won't have to worry about remembering me anymore. It'll be easier on both of us.
"If I can't have you no one can." She smirked.
"Then shoot cause you'll never have me!"
"You were always dumb. Goodbye....Stevie." I swear I saw tears in her eyes. She pulled the trigger. God that hurt!!! This damn best doesn't help shit!!! It didn't go through but oh it hurts!!!!
"NOOOO!!!" The gang screamed. Evie ran off. I closed my eyes.
"Steve!!" Shelby screamed. I heard someone run to me, it was probably Shelby. Great. Now she's gonna say I don't remember you but I love you. I understand but it's gets aggravating. I love her and I'll wait for her forever but still. I heard someone drop beside me and touch me.
"I remember. I remember everything. I love you. You have to be ok. I remember. You were right. Please don't leave me. I can't live without you." It was Shelby!! She remembers!!!! I smiled and stroked her hair.
"You're alive!" She said relieved.
"Thanks to Dally." I smiled.

She hugged me. I winced because she hit my shoulder.
"Are you ok? I didn't mean to hurt you." She said concerned.
"It's fine. It's my shoulder. Evie shot it." I said.
"Evie?!! Oh she's had it now!! She ruins everything!!" She was pissed.
"Actually Shelby she helped you remember me. Not on purpose but still. You might've never remembered me if this wouldn't of happened. I'd do it all over again if I had to." I said.
"I guess you're right. I just can't believe it took me to almost lose you to remember you. But I still hate her guts and I plan to catch and turn her in."
"I do to!! Someone has to pay my doctor bill and I ain't doing it!!" I said. She laughed at me.
"You're laying on the sidewalk bleeding to death and you're worried about your doctor bill. Tightwad." She smiled.
"The one and only." I smirked. A sharp pain shot through my shoulder. I winced.
"We need to get you to the doctor. One of you guys either go call an ambulance or someone else to bring a car." Shelby ordered.
"Drill sergeant much?" I joked.
"The one and only."
