Chapter 22 - Sarah

(Sarah POV)

I was pacing the bedroom I was told to sleep in. It was Aspen's room. Huge piece of shit. Very tacky. I shared it with them. I honestly like the smaller rooms we would stay in. I could easily tell their every movement that way. Aspen had gone out on a mission but Candice had stayed in. She kept a tight eye on me. I knew they knew something but I had to keep the act up. Mom and John made it clear if I didn't help she would blow this whole place to the ground with all of us in it. 

It was better this way. If they get captured they will stay alive. I had to make sure they stayed alive. It was all my fault. All of it. Everything that brought us here. Aspen and I were the first to be made. I was always begging for siblings. Maybe if I had kept my mouth shut..no they were made a year after I was, my words wouldn't have changed anything. DAMMIT

If this plan fails mother will be upset and kill us all. I can't let her hurt my sisters. I can't let her hurt John. 

Back at the cells when John showed up, I was told to go with them or stay. I chose to go with them out of pure fear. Then John said mother had another idea for me. He said she knew I was questioning her. So I had only one option, I die with the rest in the building or I help him get our sisters back to mother. Of course I chose to help. I wasn't an idiot. I knew John could take this whole building down if he wanted to. I knew Maria would help. I did what I needed to do to get us more time. I just didn't expect that mother had eyes and ears in the compound.

I was getting secret messages from her, handed over by SHIELD agents. So if I told anyone of the situation we would all die. Hundreds of peoples lives gone because of me. I sighed deeply and tried thinking of a way out of this but I couldn't. My only hope was us being taken back by mother just to stay alive. Perhaps she would be lenient.

The door to the room swung open, leaving only the echo of the slam it made against the wall. Aspen stared at me with blue eyes. Anger prominent on her face. Shit...

"Let me explain.." I tried to ease her. When Aspen was like this she could make a whole town of people kill themselves. My breath became short and fast fearing what she would do to me.

"So you've been telling her" Candice stood behind me, like a centurion. Making sure I wouldn't move away. Aspen walked slowly towards me. I was surprised it was just her. I was expecting all the Avengers to come in and attack me. 

"Why sister?" Her words were short and to the point. Only her anger made her this way. I could fight her but that would mean hurting her. The whole point of this was to avoid that.

"If I didn't, she would blow this place to the ground with all of us in it" I breathed out quickly. It was over anyway. The moment one of her followers saw Aspen come into the compound she would know I failed and would do everything in her power to kill us all.

"Why didn't you just tell us?" Candice almost whispers behind me. She was scared. 

"She has people here...in SHIELD. They have been giving me her messages. I can't tell who they are. I barely get a glance at them before they tell me. Please sister, if you are here she already knows..." I see Aspen look down and start to think. She was the planner of all of us. The leader. Her mind was the closest to our mothers. 

"Candice, go to Tony, have him scan the building. There are probably bombs around here." Aspen turned to look at me again. She looked at the cuff that was tightly held on my wrist.

"Put me in a cell if you need to. Just..please get everyone out. Please get yourself and Candice out. I can't loose my sisters."

"So you did all of this...all the lying to keep us alive?" I nodded looking away from her. I was always scared of being scolded by her and Maria. Before I could say anything else I felt her wrap her arms around me and hug me tightly. I didn't know what to do. I didn't get hugs by anyone, ever. I was surprised to feel tears fall from my eyes as she did this. I wasn't much of a physical person so why was this so emotional for me?

"Come on, you need to tell us everything that's been happening." She pulled away and grabbed my hand. Rushing me to a conference room downstairs. It was large and covered in windows. Anyone could see inside. All the Avengers sat around the table except for Tony Stark and the one called Vision. As soon as I walked in the glass windows darkened so no one can see inside.

"What is she doing here?" The guy I learned is Bucky Barnes the ex Winter Soldier Scowled from the corner. His arm wrapped over Candice's shoulder.

I spend a good time explaining in painful detail what had happened since I was brought in. Everyone sighs in frustration. Tony walked in, out of his suit by the time I finished talking. Vision close behind him.

"Twelve bombs, collected and defused" He breaths out tiredly sitting down and placing his hand on his face rubbing his temple softly. "You're mom is a real bitch" He blares out to no one at all. I look down sadly. "Catch me up.

"Well, Madam Hydra has agents in SHIELD spying on us. The only people we can trust right now are in this room." Steve states looking at everyone's faces. 

"It would explain the places we found some of the explosives." Vision adds.

"What do we do now?" Wanda whispered with a worried look.

"Use me" I said in answer. "Use me as bait. She probably already knows I failed. She will be sending John over to finish the job I couldn't. He has a soft spot for me and Candice."

"He beat you up.." Ana raises her voice concerned.

"But he didn't kill me. Maria did most of the damage. You know how he feels about us. When he arrives, use me and Candice to slow him down. It'll give Ana and Wanda enough time to fight him off and get him to remember. Then we will only have to deal with Maria and Liza." I look at everyone. They looked worried and unsure. 

"Sarah, your plans have always been too dangerous. I'm not using my sisters like Madam Hydra would" Ana furrows her brows and tilts her head in worry.

"Do you have a better idea?" They all stayed silent. They didn't know how to handle the situation. They weren't coming for someone, they were coming for the whole building.

"Let's evacuate the building. Make sure no one gets hurt. This is between us and them." Tony adds.

"I'm sorry Angel, but Sarah has a point. We have to end this. The only way to do that is to get all your siblings then deal with your mother." Steve grabs Ana's hand softly trying to talk her into this.

"I have another idea" Bucky says with a smirk. "Let's get the one person who is missing in this family to do something about it all." I look at him in wonder, who is he talking about? Ana suddenly jumps up.

"Absolutely not!" She crows out. "We are not getting Zemo" The room burst into conversations. 

"ENOUGH" Tony yells out. "He doesn't even know you guys exist. If he finds out that you do and Madam Hydra tortured you, then made you into super soldiers.."

"He might be willing to help us take her down." Bucky added. "The mans not my favorite human being, but he is smarter than all of us when it comes to plans. Especially when it comes to enhanced people being on the board. He'll be absolutely pissed at Madam Hydra for creating all of you without his consent."

"So how do we get him to help?" I ask

"I know how" Bucky says looking at Ana.

She sighs dropping her head. "Great...just great"

"I guess we have a plan. Vision, Wanda, Nat, start evacuating the compound. Wanda read minds and find the Hydra agents in hiding. I'll start preparing the field with hidden little perks on our behalf. Barnes, you and Ana go to the raft, grab Zemo. Alright people...let's get ready for a war"
