The holidays came and went. Those in the compound spent Christmas with me by the cell. Bucky slipped me a new book to read from his collection. I was enthralled. We spent hours talking about the characters. It was a side of Bucky I never knew about. It was nice and sweet and freaking hilarious.

Steve wanted to whisk me away to watch the fireworks for New years, since I was better at handling being near people, but nobody let him do it alone. Wanda had made it clear to everyone that I wanted to stay single for a while, but Steve was still trying to win me back. The trip quickly became a team event. I didn't mind. It was another reminder I had family now.

I was able to move around the compound as long as I had an escort. Bucky was too happy to do it. He said it helped him have an excuse to not train with Natasha. She apparently kept dropping him with her special moves, he was sick of the embarrassment. I offered to spar with him myself, he made it clear that would be just as bad. I guess he still didn't forgive me for the arm thing.

Tony let me work on some paperwork for missions after New Years, specifically the tech side of things. Making sure everyone's weapons and equipment were up to date on the paperwork. I noticed one mission marked classified. There barely was any information so I couldn't do my job and find out if the weapons and equipment on the list were acceptable.

"Tony" I walked up to him in the living room. "This mission has mostly everything classified, how am I supposed to know if anything is acceptable or up to date for it?"

"Just check it off it's fine." He didn't look up from his tablet. I was tempted on using my powers to shut it off but I sucked it in.

"What's the mission?" He tensed up. He quickly got up and took the file from my hand.

"You know what, don't worry puppet, I got this one." He walked out. Something was going on...

After that I began to cross reference every mission file I was given. I noticed there was a gap on the mission dates, with Steve, Bucky, and Tony having empty slots. Bingo...They were hiding something. All three must have been in that classified mission for these dates. Now to narrow down the exact date and time they are meant to leave the compound to catch them.

I had tried talking to Steve about it but he was always so strict about regulations that all I can get is 'it's classified..sorry' UGH. Damn his morals. Bucky was no help either, he avoided me like the plague when I asked.

It was early February, I waited outside by the helipad watching the pilots set up a Quinjet for a mission that didn't exist. When Bucky, Steve, and Tony walked out suited up I glared at them. They all froze waiting for a scolding.

"So..classified huh?" I walked up to them with my arms crossed. Tony took a step back knowing his suit might be too tempting for me still.

"Yea, it is. You shouldn't be by the jets Aspen." Well excuse me captain tight ass...I mean, his ass is fucking tight but....

"I can handle myself, I've been here for half an hour and haven't stepped close to one. What's this mission you guys are hiding from me?"

"Puppet, we will tell you after, just not now. We have to go." I take off my glasses and pinch the bridge of my nose. I was frustrated. They never kept secrets from me. At least, Tony and Bucky didn't.

"If it's about my mother..."

"Aspen, get your ass inside and let us do our jobs." Bucky demanded raising his voice like an angry father. He was always the one to put his foot down to my bullshit since I was in the cell. It was kinda hot.
