"Will you stop that? You're giving me a splitting headache." Noah said as I paced left and right around my apartment.
I was nervous about how today was going to go down and to make it worse I told Noah about it and he decided to wait for Ethan with me. Something told me he was planning to get a punch out of it. I did not want to jump into conclusions but if Ethan does not explain himself well enough maybe our relationship was not meant to be.
This was not because he possibly cheated but the fact that he could not remain loyal to me. He did not wait for me to be ready and that breaks my heart. I sighed sitting next to Noah on the couch and mumbled a sorry. To ease my nerves I asked him about his date with Mandy and he looked at me confused. He probably thought I would not figure out who his date was.
"Who said the date was with Mandy?"
"Come on, Noah...who else would you date?" I asked.
"Olivia." He mumbled and my eyes widened. I asked him if it was the same Olivia who asked advice on how not to be homophobic and he nodded. He went out with that Olivia but I thought Olivia was not his type. I also thought Olivia's type...was not Noah. "Try not to look so surprised." He said rolling his eyes.
"Sorry, I'm just shocked...I never thought you liked good girls." I said and there was a knock on the door.
I quickly got up and looked at Noah asking him if I looked okay.
"For someone who should be angry you sure are nervous." He said heading for the door.
"Noah don't punch him...you know what let me open the door." I said pushing Noah behind me.
I took a deep breath and opened the door. I found Ethan outside and right next to him was Austin. My serious face fell into an sad one. All I wanted to do was smash the door on both their faces but I froze like a idiot. Noah made his way to the door and before he could hit Ethan, Austin grabbed his fist.
"Listen...he didn't do anything wrong I'm here to explain." Austin said looking at me.
I did not get a chance to reply as Noah jerked his fist away and punched Austin instead. I had a feeling he just wanted to punch someone. I sighed pushing Noah behind me and telling him to calm down even though I was a little happy Austin got punched.
"Come in." I said walking with Noah to the couch. They both walked in and I offered them a sit while I took two chairs from the kitchen not because there was not enough space on the couch but because the thought of me sitting next to either of them made me want to hurl. "Would you like anything to drink?" I asked just because I was not happy about Austin being here did not mean I should toss my manners away.
"No, they would not." Noah answered and I glared at him.
"No, thanks." Ethan said and Austin shook his head.
I sat down next to Noah and played with my fingers waiting for someone to break the silence.
"Did you two fuck or what?" Noah asked sounding annoyed.
I hit his shoulder but looked at the two for answers.
"Of course, we did..." Austin said with a grin and I felt my heart break. "But that was before he met Jeremy." He said with a frown.
As much as I wanted to smile at that I kept a straight face and waited for Austin to finish explaining himself.
"Yes, he called me to fuck--" he said and I cringed.
"Can you please stop using that word?" I interjected and he smirked.
"Sorry, he called me to sleep with me with no strings attached like always and I agreed..." He said and I looked at Ethan who was quiet the whole time. He looked tired like he did not get enough sleep. I had a feeling he had not slept at all judging from the dark circles under his eyes. "But he never showed up at the motel. When I got there I got a call from him telling me it was a mistake and he did not want to mess up the thing he has going on with you. He told me he would wait until you were ready and he was sorry for making a fool out of me." Austin said with a sad smile. "So don't be mad at him...be mad at me for stating something that wasn't fully explained." He said standing and heading for the door. "I've said what was needed so I'll leave now." He said opening the front door and walking away.
