The morning started rather chaotically, with Sunghoon's little cousin kyungmin jumping on his bed. A few cuddles later, the boy was ushered away by his mother, allowing Sunghoon to get himself ready. He took a long, hot shower, following it by throwing on layer after layer of clothing, attempting to keep in that warmth. Once ready, he headed downstairs, joining the rest of his family for breakfast. It felt nice seeing friendly faces around the dinning table, all scarfing down the delicious meal cooked by his aunt.

"Sunghoon it's time to go." His mother said, shaking the car keys in his face.

Sunghoon grabs one more piece of toast for the way there, stuffing it into his mouth. His cousins cheered for him, letting him know that they'll be there later when he's performing. He sends them a wave, finally leaving the house. Clambering into the car, his mother blasts the heat. She needed to make sure Sunghoon was warm enough. This ride, she didn't force conversation on him at all, she let him focus. Plugging in his head phones, he plays his routine's music, running over each movement in his head.

Arriving at the rink, Sunghoon met with his coach outside. They discussed any worries he was having about the routine, Coach Jimin, giving him great advice about how to solve them. Walking inside, Sunghoon could see that it was packed with Skaters. It felt quite intimidating, they were all here for the same reason, yet so many wouldn't make the cut. Sunghoon just hurried past them all, he didn't need to get caught up in self doubt.

The ice felt good under his feet today, this was his last practice session, with him having to perform the routine only hours later. He took a few warm up glides around the rink, soon bumping into a familiar face.

"Sunghoon! How are feeling today?" Hanbin asks, his cute smile nicely on display.

"I'm actually feeling great, that might change though. How are you feeling?" He replies. Since the trip, he had managed to build a solid friendship with Hanbin, it was his first skater friend.

"I'm nervous, this is so scary."

"You don't need to be nervous, your routine is spectacular. I bet you'll have no problem qualifying." Sunghoon reassured the boy.

His smile only got brighter after his interaction with Sunghoon. They spent the next few minutes catching up, talking about what the day was going to be like. This wasn't their first skating competition, but it was the biggest one they've ever attended. There was a lot on the line, dreams could be crushed today.

Hand pressed firmly onto his face, Sunoo lent against the table. His lips pursed forward, it was a gloomy sight. Sunoo knew exactly what day it was, Sunghoon had even text him asking if he'd make an appearance, which he never replied to. This was a big deal for Sunghoon, it had nothing to do with him, he thought to himself.

"Are you really not gonna go?" Jungwon had been sitting for half an hour, looking at Sunoo's glum expression. He shook his head wondering why the boy made it so complicated.

"I don't know." Sunoo groaned, flopping his head onto the table.

His friend sighed, taking a sip of his latte. "Get yourself together Sunoo, you either go or you don't." He slams the cup down, making the table jump, hitting into Sunoo's face.

"Ow." The boy rubs his sore head. "I can't decide ok? no need for that."

"I thought it would knock some sense into you, but I guess not." Jungwon laughed, rolling his eyes playfully.

"Would he even want me there?"

Smacking his head, Jungwon couldn't believe how ridiculous Sunoo was being. "He literally asked you to come. I'm gonna take a wild guess, now I could be wrong, he does want you there." He sarcastically gasps.
