I walked down the desolate street. The sound of my shoes hitting the road echoed around me as the wind blew past me making my cloak flutter in the wind. I was back on the surface heading to the nearest hospital. Sonic needed some meds and an oxygen machine as well as some blood bags. Normally I'm in the shadows or on the roof tops but, I refuse to hide in the shadows and longer.

The sun beat down on me casting a long shadow across the ground. I heard fast approaching footsteps from behind me. I turned around to see blaze running towards me waving her arm along with silver who was flying beside her. I stopped and waited. they both stopped in front of me and blaze bowed. "Forgive me and silver for attacking you at the docks we had though you were a threat to sonic".

I waved my hand dismissively. "The devils in the details you two, now I have to get going". As I turned around silver moved cars with his powers to block my path. "I don't have time to fight or talk I'm in the middle of something important". I said narrowing my eyes. "We know that much and it's easy to tell something isn't right you're out in the middle of the day walking down the street". Said silver.

I chuckled slightly. "Well aren't you two perceptive"? I walked over and looked them both up and down. "Blaze still rocking those cloths I gave you. As for you silver you need a new look". He looked at me then at blaze. "They are right silver you have attracted more attention than me I go unnoticed like this". Said blaze adjusting her hat.

Silver nodded and looked at me. "Ok fashion sense guru what should I wear"? He asked tilting his head. I grabbed his hand and led him to an alleyway next to a cloths store. "Hmm let's see what would look good on you". I jumped into a dumpster. "Are they usually like this"? Asked silver as he leaned into blazes ear to whisper. "They had me jump off a roof top and they know their way around the city. Questioning them is unwise". she whispered in response.

"Behold"! I said coming out of the dumpster. "Here put this on"! I said tossing it at his face. "Try to wear it with the zipper undone". I dove back into the trash can. He slipped it on and pulled the hood over his head. "Not bad". He said as I came out of the dumpster holding a pair of old jeans. I quickly tore a few holes into the legs. "There that's better"! I tossed them at him and went looking for one thing that could complete it.

Blaze tilted her head looking at silver putting on the torn jeans. I hopped out of the dumpster holding an . "Alright this will do". I tossed the old hat at him and he looked at the old thing taking down his hood and setting the hat on his head. "I need you two to go rob a blood bank". I handed them a note with Sonics blood type on it.

"He needs that blood if he's going to live, I'm going to get some other supplies I'm counting on you two". I said. After a few moments I got down on one knee bowing my head. "I'm begging you to help me, but I don't care if it may be your business or not just help me save sonic"! Silver lifted his right hand and rested on top of my head. "Of course were going to help, after all it's the hero's job to intervene and meddle even if they don't need to".

I got up and nodded. "Thank you". I turned from them. "I have a question for the both of you". They looked at me curious. "Have you ever thought of a world where everything is exactly the same, except you don't exist? Everything functions as perfectly without you"? They both went dead silent. Ha, ha... to be honest the thought terrifies me. They don't need to know that.

"Welp I'm going to the hospital. See you all later. Head to the docks from our last encounter". I opened a portal and stepped through getting far away from them. Hopefully they can do it. I will fix my mistakes. I teleported into the hospital hiding behind a wall as a doctor rushed past. let's hope they don't mind me taking a few things to save a life.

silver POV.

"Hey wait get back here"! Though she had already entered the portal. What did she mean by all of that other world stuff? I sighed and looked at blaze that had her usual serious expression. "You heard them silver, should we wish to save the present we are going to have to go to a blood bank". I nodded. "You know she could have at least told us where to find one". She shook her head.

"We have gotten used to the city streets by now finding it won't be as hard as we make it out to be". She looked me up and down. "You look wonderful". I blinked. Did she, just make fun of me? "Did you just try to make a joke"? She ignored me and started to walk. Ok maybe I'm getting through her tough exterior because I could have sworn that was the first time I heard her insult me jokingly.

I mean she's always so strict and smiles rarely, I think she needed to see me humiliated a bit to pick her up from her own outfit she has to wear. Then again I'm not sure with how cold and unfeeling she acts sometimes. "Silver"? I was snapped out of my thoughts. "Right sorry". I started to walk with her as I flew us onto the roof tops. We started to run along them looking around.

"So how much blood are we supposed to get exactly"? I asked looking down at the empty streets below us. That's when I saw it. "Blaze over there"! I jumped down to the streets below with blaze following me. I walked up to the building and tried the door. "Locked"? Asked blaze walking up to me. I nodded my head. "Looks like we have to break in. that's going to be on my conscious". I tore the door from its hinges with my power. "Though with the future at stake I can live with it".

I walk inside and head into the back with blaze looking inside where they kept all of it. "oh man how are we supposed to find the right stuff in this place"? Blaze walked over to me with an arm full of blood bags. "Found them". I blinked. "How did you even"? She smiled "I have sharp eyes". I chuckled. "Ok fair point". I grabbed some bags from her. "Let's get going"! She nodded and we ran out the front door, sirens were heard in the distance.

"Looks like we triggered a silent alarm"! I said starting to float. "Silver wait a minute"! Said blaze as she ducked into an alleyway. I flew in after her. She quickly hid the blood bags in her clothing. "Hide in plain sight". She looked at me with a serious expression. I sighed then nodded putting the blood under my clothing. We walked out of the alleyway.

Police cars raced past us not even noticing us. "Shouldn't they be stopping us"? Blaze shook her head. "The homeless are often over looked". She said walking down the alleyway. "I like the future better, my future". I said lowering my head. She stopped and set the blood down resting a hand on my shoulder. "Silver, we will save everybody we just have to stay determined and keep sonic safe from harm". I nodded and she went and picked the blood back up.

We slowly made our way through the city streets back to the docks. We hid in a warehouse sitting on some crates waiting for the phantom thief. "What if they were lying and trying to get rid of us"? I asked floating a few rocks in the air making them fly in circles. "From my experience I can tell that they aren't lying". She said starting to meditate.

Everything is going well enough so far but, we still don't know how to beat rick let alone know what eggman is up to at any given moment. The memory of that giant robot in the desert haunts me. I can remember tail's hope for a future. He may have been a robot but I could feel the hope and excitement from him like a kid in a toy store who were told they could get any toy they wanted.

I heard footsteps and dropped the stones looking over to the entrance. It was glutton but they didn't have the medical supplies. "Where's your stuff"? I asked walking over. "It's where it needs to be I came to collect the blood". He held out his hand. "You are late". Said blaze walking over and handing him the blood. "Yes well I had to sneak through a hospital and drop everything off". They replied sending the blood through a black portal.

"So glutton how do we know that's all really for sonic"? He and blaze turned to look at me. "I can vogue that she is trustworthy". Said blaze. Gears slowly started to turn in my head. "Wait she"?! I said taking a step back. The phantom thief groaned. "Looks like the cats out of the bag. It was bound to happen". She said putting her arms behind her head.

I groaned. "Take us to sonic already". She shook her head tapping the forehead piece of her mask. "That's not gonna happen pal". She said stepping into a portal and disappearing. "So can I get out of this outfit now? It's super itchy". I said reaching for the hat. Blaze shook her head. "It's better to hide in plain sight. Get used to it".

Y/n POV.

I came back to the hospital to see the doctor hook sonic up to everything. "Ah I hear the sound of a phantom thief"! He said not turning around. He backed up then looked at me. "He will be fine very soon my friend. Just give him time to regain his strength". With that he left me alone in the room with sonic. I took off my mask along with my cloak and voice changer as I sit on the edge of his bed.

"I'm so sorry. I should have given you a chance when you gave me one". I grabbed his hand. "Why is it that you of all people would show someone like me mercy"? I felt his hand slowly wrap around mine as my eyes widen. "Because you're my friend and I never give up on them". He said smiling slightly. I hugged him tight and he hugged back. "I'm so sorry, please just forgive me". He reached up and patted my head. "I already do".

I blushed slightly and he smiled. "Heh so uh, where exactly are we"? he asked looking around. I frowned. Well now I have to tell him everything. Still strange how he woke up so conveniently. "Welcome to the city of the forgotten, or the underground if you prefer". I said smiling. He tried to get up but I stopped him. "Hold up speedy you aren't going anywhere till you heal that chest wound". He smirked.

"Yes mom". He said with sarcasm. I rolled my eyes and sighed. I can't believe he would just forgive me like that. I closed my eyes and breathe a sigh of relief. if he has his sarcasm already it won't be long before he is healed. I smiled slightly then blushed as he suddenly took my hand. I looked at him and he had a grin on his face. "Sonic what are you-"? He pulled me down towards him for a hug. I blushed and he whispered in my ear. "Don't beat yourself up about it, you were protecting and doing what you thought was right. Absolutely nothing wrong with that".

I started to tear up. he let go and rolled out of bed and onto his feet. "Now I know you said rest but I get real antsy if I don't move"! I rolled my eyes and wiped my tears. "Fine then. Though don't blame me if you hurt yourself". He smiled and gave a thumbs up starting to walk out of the room. I quickly followed him. "So y/n which hospital are we in"? Before I could give him an answer he opened the front doors of the building. His eyes widen in surprise. I walk up and put a hand on his shoulder. "Sonic welcome to what I was protecting. This is the city of the forgotten. The underground and my home".
