final battle part one

Y/n POV.

I was barely able to dodge a bullet as I grabbed one of my metsubishi eggs tossing it on the ground. There was a puff of smoke letting me escape and circle around the gunfire through one of my portals without being noticed. I landed onto the roof of a warehouse. I watched as a sea of blood and scrap metal began to form, eggman had fled to his airship waiting above the city. He had an entire fleet of those things now. I watched as Amy smashed a few robots and break a couple skulls belonging to some soldiers, knuckles was digging pitfall traps underground causing soldiers and robots to fall into them, silver was throwing tanks with his psychokinesis as if they were rocks, I watched as one sailed into an attack chopper causing both vehicles to explode. Rick was tearing through soldiers and robots like they weren't even there, I watched as he decapitated one soldier with his pincers throwing his headless and shriveled up body at a few other soldiers knocking them down.

My heart was beating over one hundred miles an hour, all of this chaos, so this is what war looked like? I jumped back up into the air immediately landing on top of a soldier cracking him over the head with my tonfa; he went down as I ran back into the fray knocking people aside trying to fight my way towards rick. I felt the heat right to my right, blaze must be burning something or someone. Shadow stood upon a pile of corpses firing off bullets in all directions, though sonic was nowhere in sight. "Y/N"! He shouted coming up behind me, I nearly hit him in the throat with my tonfa as a reflex, and I barely stopped in time. "Nice to see you to"! He smiled putting a headset on me; he had a whole bunch of them in his arms. "I need to get these to the others stay alive"! He said zooming off.

I ducked as a robots sword nearly cut my head off. I kicked the sword high into the air above us both. a portal appeared swallowing the sword as another one appeared beneath us both, it stabbed the robot right between the legs as I grab its handle yanking it up cutting the robot in half. I sent my tonfa back through my portals. "Wood is good but steel cuts great"! I jumped up high into the air shoving my sword through another portal stabbing a robot right on the head that was about to sneak up on shadow. "Mayday I request assistance rick the scorpion has engaged me in mortal combat"! Said blaze urgently over the com. "hang on blaze I'm heading towards you now"! I replied falling to the ground slashing a soldier across her back. Suddenly shadow came onto the coms "belay that request for backup evacuate now you idiots"! He said urgently. "eggman is preparing for his fleet to bombard the docks not to mention those robots are almost on top of us"!

I growled as I sidestepped another robots sword than ducked out of the way of another's blaster as I quickly cut the blaster off making it fire at random hitting three other robots before I shoved my sword into its chest finishing it off. "Everyone hold for an emergency teleportation"! I said snapping my fingers. Shadow portals appeared around the battle field scooping up my friends along with anything that would be caught up in them. I made sure I had everyone I needed as I watched rick charging towards me. "Don't think you can escape y/n"! He yelled his eyes completely deranged. I quickly pointed upwards then vanished through one of my portals. He frowned looking up to see eggmans massive amount of artillery heading to the docks. "Oh fuck". He said as he docks along with anything still there were turned to ash.

When I came out of the portal I found myself in front of the restaurant I ate at with sonic and the gang. I quickly touched my headset. "If you guys can still hear me we have to take on different objectives in order to win"! The headset sputtered out the sound of heavy gunfire. "Leave the military to me"! Said shadow as his headset went quiet. "I shall find silver, will be working on evacuating the underground"! Blaze said with confidence. "Right that means I'm going to try to take on rick if he survived, sonic can you handle the-"? Suddenly I heard nothing but static. "Hello is anyone there? Respond damn it"! I clicked my tongue annoyed. "Someone must be jamming our frequency". I gazed at my stolen sword seeing it rather beaten up. I tossed it away and began to run down the street. I just hoped everyone was alright I hadn't managed to reach them all so I don't know where they ended up.

Knuckles POV.

I landed into a pile of trash in some alleyway. "Damn it y/n give me a little more warning next time"! I growled pissed. I heard a girlish scream above me, before I could look up Amy fell onto my head. I groaned picking her up hoping out of the trash pile. "Are you alright"? I asked as she nodded. "Been better, but where are the others"?! Before I could answer y/n came onto the headset than suddenly the connection went dead. "Someone jammed our coms"! She said stating the obvious. I looked up seeing eggmans airships hovering above the city. "Do you remember where we parked the x tornado"? I asked smirking. "What do you think its eggman doing it"? I rolled my eyes. "Do you know anyone else who would"? She huffed crossing her arms. "Ok fine smarty pants, we left it in the park but I'm sure it's guarded".

I bumped my knuckles together. "Sounds like a party, let's go say hell shall we"? She sighed face palming. "Oh you and your desire to solve everything with a punch"! I scoffed and began walking down the street. "Come on you will be left behind"! Her eyes widen as she began to chase after me. "Don't you dare leave me out here it's a war zone"! Soon enough we made it to the park, to our surprise the soldiers had abandoned their post for a new position someplace else. "Alright then let's get it in the air". I ran over getting into the cockpit as Amy got into the back. "All systems go let's go and say hello to eggman"! She said determined as the x tornado took off high into the sky.

"So what exactly is our plan for taking out five airships with only one tiny plane"? Asked Amy worried. "Simple, we commandeer one ship the use its artillery against eggman's main ship"! I replied confidently. "That actually sounds like a smart plan who are you and what did you do with knuckles"? Asked Amy. "Hey shut I have ideas ok"?! I barked angrily. "Well even if we do take out eggmans main ship that just means he could flee to another one"! She shouted back annoyed. "I thought you were just complimenting my plan"! I barked annoyed. "Knuckles evasive maneuvers"! She said suddenly. I dove down just as a bullet grazed our left wing. "Where the hell did that come from eggmans fleet is in front of us"?! I asked checking the radar. "Knuckles we have a problem"! Said Amy scared as my eyes widen. There were hundreds of large dots all around us. I pulled up turning the ship around to see hundreds of more airships.

My mouth was hanging open in shock. "Where the hell did all these ships come from"?! I shouted as a familiar laugh flooded into my ears. "ohohohoh! You fools must have a death wish"! Said eggman smugly. He seemed to be using speakers attached to his main flagship. "Witness this invincible battleship, built by the hands of a genius, its power is unmatched throughout the universe"! He said prattling on about his supposed greatness. "Change of plans Amy we are heading right for the flagship"! She held onto her seat tight as I flew right for the ship. The other ships began to shoot at us trying to knock us out of the sky. "Really missing tails right about now"! Said Amy as a large caliber bullet came through her windshield grazing her forehead. Her head was jerked right hitting itself against the opposite window knocking her out.

"Shit Amy can you still hear me"?! With no response my blood began to boil. "I'M NOT GOING TO LET EGGMAN GET AWAY WITH THIS"! I put my fingers on the controls for the weapons. "I'm going to blow that fat bastard right out of the sky"! I lined up right at his flagship flying right above his main deck. The ships cannons aimed trying to shoot us down but weren't nearly fast enough. I began to fire at the bridge watching hundreds of bullets and missiles hit it with pinpoint accuracy. "Stop that you idiot you're on a suicide mission"! Said eggman frantically from his loudspeaker. "DOES IT HONESTLY LOOK LIKE I CARE"?! I shouted to no one in particular. Just then, time began to slow down for me. The turrets clicked, they were out of ammo, and I had no rockets left. I slammed my fist down onto the ejector seat button, Amy launched out into the sky her parachute safely deploying, but the screen showed a malfunction with my ejector seat.

My blood ran cold. I was almost on top of eggman I could see him through the broken glass of the bridge. I felt something, a rush of pure determination. If I'm going down, I'm taking him with me for everyone he has ever hurt or killed, the master emerald would have to find a new guardian. As ashamed as I am to admit this, y/n would have the skills to keep it hidden and keep it safe. "Tails, forgive me one last time for wrecking the x tornado little buddy". time froze for me completely as the x tornado was mere inches away from the bridge, the look of terror on eggman looking back as he tried to run out of the room was evident on his face. "I leave the future of this world to all of my friends"! I said with confidence as the x tornado crashed into the ships bridge. The bridge exploded as the x tornado's fuel caught fire destroying it.

The ship slowly began to tilt downwards towards the ground far below it. The rest of the battleships slowly began to lose power descending to the earth as well. they began to crash one by one all over the city, some even on the outskirts of the city, the burned and exploded as the sky turned a dark black clouded by the smog rising from the wreckage, and as for the once great giant robots losing the signal from the flag ship caused them to topple to their knees then crash violently into nearby buildings reducing them to rubble. The smaller robots around the city toppled over lifeless. The threat of eggman destroying the city would no longer be an issue. Yet many other threats to this world and its future remained.

Shadow POV.

I watched as eggmans ships crashed into the city decimating most likely over seventy percent of it. "Humph, so the doctor is out of commission that makes my job much easier". I skated through the city heading towards the town hall. If I was going to end this I needed to find pogo and have him order his government dogs to stand down. When I got there I found a blockade of over twenty foot soldiers blocking my way. "All of you get lost"! I said impatiently as I jumped over the blockade heading for the tents. When I got there I saw a lot of wounded soldiers, some of which were familiar faces. They began to sound the alarm but I shot my gun into the air. "NO BODY MOVE GIVE UP DR POGO AND NO ONE GETS HURT"! My voice carried the commanding tone of authority. They slowly made way, many of them freezing on the spot. "o-over there in his tent"! Said a random soldier. His voice was filled with resentment.

Suddenly pogo himself came from his tent. "There will be no need for v-violence". He seemed to be sweating as he tried to keep his cool. I stormed over picking him up by his collar. "I'm giving you to the count of one to call back your soldiers throughout the city and evacuate". I held my gun to his head finger on the trigger. "One-". The whir of helicopter blades began to cause a dust cloud above me. The tents billowed threatening to come off the ground as I gazed up to see an apache helicopter, and who do I see behind the glass in the gunner's seat? The mayor himself with a crazed look in his eyes. He quickly got on the loudspeaker.

"YOU BASTARDS LOOK AT MY PRECIOUS CITY! ITS ON FIRE EVERYTHING IS RUINED"! The mayor shouted angrily. I dropped pogo crossing my arms looking right into his eyes through the glass. "I SHOULD HAVE NEVER LET ANY OF YOU IN MY CITY THE PHANTOM THIEF WOULD ALREADY BE IN CUSTODY IF MY CAPABLE OFFICERS WERE STILL IN CHARGE OF THIS! NOT YOU SHADOW NOT SONIC AND CERTAINLY NOT POGO AND EGGMAN"!
I scoffed at his outburst. "Hey genius you let both of them take over everything would have been fine if you weren't such a selfish ass who didn't know how to suck up his pride and trust shady individuals"! I doubt he heard me but man it felt good to say that. "Get everyone out of here pogo things are going to get to real for someone like you". He scrambled up hollering for the troops to fall back somewhere as I let the nearly empty clips from my UZI fall to the ground. I quickly reloaded them than cracked my neck.

"DIE NOW YOU PATHETIC SCUM"! The mayor shouted without a trace of sanity in his voice. The guns began to spin as bullets flew at me, I skated around the camp as the bullets tore through the tents and ground. I returned fire shooting the choppers rotor emptying both clips into it. I sighed as my guns clicked barely a dent in the blades. "To small of a caliber". I mumbled as I tossed the now empty guns away. I jumped to the right barely dodging the hail of bullets. Suddenly they stopped shooting at me. "That idiot, this isn't a video game you run out of ammo in air vehicles". I smirked as he fired two missiles at me. Just what I was waiting for. I jumped up high landing on the first missile jumping to the second as the chopper tried to fly higher up. Too late for them I jumped right onto the gunner windshield. The mayor's eyes widen as I summoned a chaos spear sending it through the glass piercing him in the side. He yelled in pain as the piolet tried to shake me off.

Instead I jumped off tossing a chaos spear into the tail rotor blowing it to pieces. I landed on the ground facing away from the chopper as it spun right out of control smashing into the town hall. "You didn't have to die, if only you were wiser you would have realized you should have trusted your flight response instead of your fight". I closed my eyes shaking my head. "Shadow the hedgehog"! I opened one eye to see pogo rushing over. "Alright, I will accept what you said I'm going to focus on getting the troops that were loaned to me out of the city"! I uncrossed my arms nodding as he gasped pointing behind me. "I-impossible"! I swung around to see the mayor climbing a tank that was casually left outside the entrance to the town hall. His left leg seemed completely broken; he held one hand over his bleeding gut. "Seriously how the hell are you even alive"?! I asked annoyed as I sent a chaos spear at him.

It missed him by an inch as he crawled inside the tank. "Please tell me you weren't dumb enough to leave a way for him to start the tank". I asked pogo. Before he could answer the tank roared to life slowly aiming its cannon towards me. "You are all idiots". I groaned out as pogo ran far away fast. I jumped to my right dodging an explosive shell from the tank. "Idiot, he only has one person in there". I quickly skated off looking around the wreckage of the camp. The tank slowly began to move after me only stopping to fire every once in a while. Seems like he is actually taking aim this time, too bad it won't serve him well long enough to survive. I finally found what I was looking for in a crate. I reached in pulling out a simple baseball grenade. He took aim and fired just as I ducked out of the way letting the crate of grenades get hit; they all went off making my ears ring as I rolled along the ground. I quickly shook it off and raced towards the tank.

He only had one person operating it, meaning he had to switch between driving it and dealing with the main gun loading it and unloading it. I quickly jumped onto the tanks barrel walking along it hopping onto the hatch. I quickly opened it pulling the pin of the grenade with my teeth. "Heads up jackass"! I tossed it in slamming the hatch shut jumping off the tank. The main part of the tank exploded as the grenade must have hit the remaining ammo. "If he is still alive I will admit that he instead is the ultimate lifeform". I said sarcastically. "Now stay dead". I turned around to see pogo in the back of an army jeep. It quickly pulled over rolling down the window. "Shadow evacuation efforts are underway our troops have been ordered to stand down! Please help as much as you can with evacuation efforts"!

I clicked my tongue. "Fine, don't come back till we kill that psychopath rick this is still your mess and you need to help clean it up". He nodded rolling up his window tearing off down the road. Suddenly from the center of the city a huge pillar of fire erupted into the sky. I sighed crossing my arms. "Good grief, someone seems to have pissed the fire princess off". Suddenly the headset on my ear buzzed to life with Sonics frantic voice. "If anyone can hear me I'm near the crash site of eggmans flagship Amy is hurt bad and I can't find knuckles"! My eyes narrowed as I tapped the headset to speak. "Don't worry faker I'm on the way to help, blaze if you can hear me whatever it is your facing you have silver to back you up, and he may be a novice but he has some decent skills". She didn't respond as I quickly took off towards the crash site.
