ch. 7: Savannah's surgery

It's a Saturday afternoon all of them are having lunch together at the park they are sitting underneath a tree in front of the lake

'Are you done having a hissing fit?' Ava asks Sabrina, they laugh

'Has she been like this all day?' Amanda asks

'Only when we go out anywhere but at restaurants she's completely fine' Ava says

'It's so weird' Claire says, Sabrina reaches out for Savannah

'Aw she wants her aunt Savannah who's taking a nap' Ava says

'I'm up now' Savannah says

she sits up and looks at Sabrina, Sabrina stops crying and starts smiling and giggling at Savannah

'She's been going that a lot too she'll cry me or Claire just looks at her and she stops crying then starts giggling like that' Ava says

'She's making progress which is good' Claire says

'And another thing too whoever she wants she will stare at you for a little bit then goes to somebody else' Ava says

'She might be trying to figure who are the moms and who are the aunts babies are smart just give them time' Amanda says

'Babe do you ever see babies like Sabina develop this fast?' Savannah asks

'Yeah I have, it depends on who has the good genes of the parents' Amanda says

'Not mine' Ava says

'Probably ours' Claire says

'How did your doctors appointment go today babe?' Amanda asks Savannah

'I um need surgery to repair my Rotator cuff because I got shoulder tackle in training for the military and I didn't have the time to fix so I'm doing it now so that way I'm all heal up for the future' Savannah says

'How long will the recovery take?' Ava asks

'Four to six depending on bad it be plus physical therapy and she has to wear a sling for a little bit' Amanda says

'Yup' Savannah says

'Did they say how bad is it?' Claire asks

'Um from what they could tell its not good or bad but In the middle, if you saw the way I flip and landed on it you would think 'oh shit that looks bad' Savannah says

'When's the surgery?' Amanda asks

'Next month on the second at 8am' Savannah says

'Do you want anybody to come with you?' Claire asks

'Yeah if you guys can get that day off' Savannah asks

'I can request a personal day' Claire says

'Same' Amanda says

'Thanks guys' Savannah says, they smile at her, so they enjoy the rest of their lunch together

One month later it's the second which means it's Savannah's surgery everybody is in the waiting room Amanda puts her head on Savannah's shoulder

'Are you nervous Sava?' Ava asks

'A little bit but not as bad as this one is' Savannah says, she points to Amanda

'I can't help it' Amanda says

'I know Mi amor' Savannah says, she kisses her on the head

'But it's not like I'm getting brain surgery or anything like that' Savannah says

'Yeah that's true' Amanda says, Then the nurse walks out Savannah hands Amanda her phone

'Savannah' the nurse says, Savannah kisses Amanda

'That's me' Savannah says, she gets up

'Ok follow me' the nurse says,

Savannah kisses Claire, Ava, and Sabrina then follows the nurse back in the surgery room

'She'll be ok Amanda, she's been through worse' Claire says

'I know just surgery in general scares me' Amanda says

Ava picks up Sabrina and gets up she walks over and sits down beside Amanda

'I think you need her more then we do after I change her diaper' Ava says, they laugh

Ava gets up and Claire hands her the diaper bag she leaves

'It's better that she gets fix now instead of when you guys want kids in the future' Claire says, Amanda smiles

'How come in high school I would get butterflies whenever I would think about having a family with her but now when somebody mentions it I don't anymore' Amanda says

'Because you know now that it's actually going to happen' Claire says

'Probably' Amanda says

A few minutes later Ava comes back and hands Sabrina to Amanda, Amanda looks down at Sabrina, then Sabrina opens her eyes

'Oh no, what are you going to do now?' Ava asks Sabrina, then Sabrina sneezes

'Bless you then' Ava says, Sabrina looks at Amanda's fingers and starts reaching for it

'She wants your finger' Claire says

Amanda puts it in Sabrina's reach, Sabrina puts her hand around Amanda's Finger, Amanda smiles at her

'She's letting you know that everything is going to be ok with Savannah in surgery' Claire says

'I'll take your finger for it kid' Amanda says, they chuckle

Ava puts her head on Amanda's shoulder and watches Sabrina

A couple of hours later Savannah just got out surgery and she's recovering in her room they walk in and wait until Savannah wakes up then they hear moaning and they look at her Savannah opens her eyes once her eyes gets adjusted she looks at them

'Took you nothing to it' Savannah says, in tired voice, they chuckle

'Yeah, you was right' Amanda says, she kisses her on the head

'Is Sabrina awake?' Savannah asks

'Um she was when we came in, let me check' Ava says

'She has this new ability where she can sense that you're nervous like Amanda was earlier and Sabrina reach out for Amanda's finger and she put her hand around Amanda's finger' Claire says

'Did it calm your nerves down?' Savannah asks

'Yeah, it did actually' Amanda says, Ava walks up to them

'She is awake but are you too weak to hold her since you just got out surgery' Ava says

'Oh Yeah, let's wait until tomorrow' Savannah says

They pull up a chair and sits Sabrina on it so Savannah can at least see Sabrina, eventually they both falls asleep Sabrina because she's still a baby and Savannah because of the drugs
