ch.8: thunderstorms ☁💧⚡

A couple of weeks later everybody is sitting on the porch hanging out, Savannah has her arm in a temporary sling for now

'How you guys doing?' Amanda asks

'Could be better in a way' Claire says

'What makes you say that?' Savannah asks

'Sabrina has been waking up in the middle of the night screaming and crying for Savannah' Ava says

'How do you guys know that?' Amanda asks

'Because every time we say Savannah's name she would stop crying and screaming' Claire says

'I wish that i can hold her' Savannah says

'I don't think its just the physical touch that she wants from you just you being in her presence is what she really wants from you because she knows that you're part of the family doesn't know which part yet' Ava says

'Has she said mom or mama yet?' Amanda asks

'Mama' Sabrina says, everybody looks at her in shock

'I think that answers your question' Claire says

Ava gets up and walks up to Sabrina, Savannah gets her phone out to record if Sabrina says it again, Sabrina smiles at Ava

'Mama' Sabrina says, Ava smiles

'Hi baby!' Ava says, she picks her and kisses her on the head, Savannah stops recording

'I got that on camera I'll send it to you guys' Savannah says

Ava sits down beside Claire and Sabrina looks at her Savannah gets her phone back out and starts recording, Sabrina smiles

'Mama' Sabrina says, she starts reaching for Claire, Claire takes her and Savannah stops recording

'Here's the thing I think she's going to call all of us that for awhile until she has more words to say' Amanda says

'Mmm, that's true, but I'm glad that she said mama and it was to us, no offense guys' Ava says

'No we understand that, for a second there I thought that she called Amanda mama' Savannah says

'Like you guys don't her calling us mama as long as it's after she calls you guys mama, which makes sense because you guys are the actual parents not us, and she will understand that as her brain devolves' Amanda says

'Right' Ava says, Savannah phone goes off and she looks at it

'Uh-oh' Savannah says

'What is it babe?' Amanda asks

'We're under a serve thunderstorm warning' Savannah says

Ava gets up and walks down to the end of the porch and looks at the sky

'Oh my god, guys come here' Ava says

they get up and walks up to her, they look at the sky and it's dark grey

'Yup we're in for a good one tonight, no pun intended' Savannah says

'You guys better stay here' Amanda says

'But we have to get some things from the house' Claire says

'No, I'll go with you guys it'll go faster, no pun intended too, babe stay here with Sabrina' Amanda says

'Got it' Savannah says

They take Sabrina's crib into the living when you live out in the Country especially when it's bad weather you don't just sit around and wait you got to get what you can and get the tv just in case there's a tornado

They shut everything off, got everything that they need for Sabrina and themselves, lock everything up and heads back to Savannah's ranch, once they do they get everything out and puts it into the living room

'What's the weather so far babe?' Amanda asks, she walks up to her

'So far heavy rain and wind up to 60 miles pre-hour, strong lightening and thunder, so we charged everything up that needs to be charged up' Savannah says

'Good idea' Ava says, they do that

'We should board up the Windows too' Claire says

'Right, what about your guys place?' Savannah asks

'We did ours earlier today we got an alter earlier I don't know why you got one now' Ava says

'Me either' Savannah says

they board up everything single window with strong wood, they get outside in the shed or inside somewhere Ava and Claire already did that at their house, they hear the wind start to pick up and hears thunder, they head back inside into the living room

'The wind is starting to pick up, and we just heard it thunder too' Claire says, then Sabrina starts crying

'Oh man, she hates loud things' Ava says, she picks her up

'Shhhhh, it's ok honey' Ava says, but it's not working

'Sabrina?' Savannah says, in a nice calm voice, Sabrina looks at her

'Hi honey' Savannah says, in a nice calm voice, Sabrina stops crying and then smiles

'Everything is going to be fine, ok' Savannah says, in nice calm voice

And Savannah is right because once the thunderstorm gets there it's not as bad as it look, they take everything down and put everything back where it was before

'This is one of the reasons I don't living out in the country but that's all everything else I like' Claire says

'I remember when Sava was still in the military, and it was just me and Abby here alone because you guys was your honeymoon and it was our first thunderstorm here, we were freaking out, it was a mess' Amanda says, they laugh

'I remember in high school there was a really bad storm and you Amanda was home alone and I just off of work,  and you decide to call me and talk me into coming over there until it was over' Savannah says, they laugh

'Well Claire and Ava was on a date I couldn't call them' Amanda says

'We wouldn't mind coming over' Claire says

'Yeah, we wouldn't mind' Ava says, Amanda smiles

'But you guys have to now' Amanda says, they laugh

'Ok fair enough' Ava says

Amanda and Ava fixes dinner while Savannah and Claire checks on Sabrina and they have a relaxing dinner
