ch. 18: Ava's breakdown

Claire has noticed that Ava has been down lately since Savannah's and Ava works at the same place Claire asked Savannah to keep an eye on Ava while at work

Ava walks out of the surgery room and stands against the wall then bends down and starts crying then Savannah walks to her and bends down beside her

'Hey, you ok?, did they not make it?' Savannah asks, Ava looks at her

'Why do you look so much like your sister?' Ava asks, Savannah chuckles

'There's some difference but I understand what you mean' Savannah says

'But no one died in surgery I'm just overwhelmed is all between my work, Sabrina and my marriage, I'm just overwhelmed with everything lately' Ava says

'Well have you talked to Claire about this?' Savannah asks

'I will since she probably made you keep an eye on me during work' Ava says, Savannah chuckles

'You know your wife too well' Savannah says, Ava smiles

'You can tell your messenger that I'll talk to her after work' Ava says, Savannah chuckles

'Got it' Savannah says, they stand up and Savannah looks down the hallway

'Or you can do it now' Savannah says

Ava looks down the hallway and sees Claire walking down the hallway in slow motion in her mind, then Claire walks up to them

'Hey Amanda and Elizabeth are up in the front' Claire says to Savannah

'Thank you, I'll let you two be' Savannah says, she leaves, Ava puts her back against the wall and crosses her arms

'I know that you told Savannah to keep an eye on me during work' Ava says

'Eyes on your own paper' Claire says, Ava chuckles

'I just wanna know that you are ok is all?' Claire asks

'Just overwhelmed with keeping up with everything work, our family and marriage' Ava says, Claire smiles

'I get like that sometimes but every time I lay in your arms everything that I'm overwhelmed with just disappears until  we have to go our separate ways that day' Claire says

'I just don't know what to do to get back to normal ish' Ava says

'Honestly you're not going to be normal ish until you probably retire' Claire says

'Should I put in the two weeks notice now or wait until Sabrina finishes college if she wants to go that is' Ava says, Claire chuckles and walks up to her and hugs her

'Everything is going to be ok eventually' Claire says, Ava smiles and hugs her back

In the front Savannah walks up to Amanda

'Hey' Savannah says, she kisses her and Elizabeth, Elizabeth reaches out for her and Savannah takes her

'Hi you' Savannah says

she starts kissing her all over her face, Elizabeth starts giggling, Amanda smiles at them and Savannah looks at her

'How's Ava doing?' Amanda asks

'Not good, she feels overwhelmed with everything' Savannah says

'Unfortunately she's going to feel like this until she retires or dies' Amanda says

'Way to think positive babe' Savannah says, she sits down, Amanda chuckles and sits down beside her

'I'm just pointing out the truth is all' Amanda says

'I know, it sucks being an adult' Savannah says

'We're not even married and I already know how hard it is to be married or marriage is in general' Amanda says, hinting at wanna to get married soon, Savannah looks at her

'Ok when do you want to get married and where?' Savannah asks

'I'm not hinting at getting married any time soon, I'm just saying that I know how it feels to be married without being married yet' Amanda says

'Yeah I guess understand that because I was married to Abby for a little bit until she passed away' Savannah says

'Yeah see you understand what Ava is going through' Amanda says

'Yeah, are you sure that you wasn't hinting at getting married?' Savannah asks

'I mean I wouldn't mind getting married now but it's up to you because Abby just died a couple of years ago' Amanda says

'Yeah, I think when the time is right between us then that can be the time we get married' Savannah says

'Ok sounds like a plan' Amanda says

'Anyways what are you guys doing today?' Savannah asks, she looks at Elizabeth

'We have a play date with Reagan and Sabrina today' Amanda says

'Oh man I wish that I was there' Savannah says

'Yeah me too but you and Ava are saving military lives here' Amanda says, Savannah smiles

'I keep forgetting that Ava was in the military too but in different parts of the world though' Savannah says

'Are you sure that you didn't suffer brain damage some point in your lifetime?' Amanda asks

Savannah looks at her and sticks out her tongue at her and Elizabeth sticks out her tongue at Savannah

'Thank you Elizabeth' Amanda says

'Are we trying to see who's tongue is the longest?' Ava asks, they walk up to them, they laugh

'Code blue coming through the door patient is unresponsive' a lady says over the speakers, Ava puts her head down then lifts it back up

'Well we ever catch a break?' Ava asks

'Yeah, between 5pm and 5am' Savannah says, they laugh

'Bye love you' Claire says

'Bye love you too' Ava says, they kiss

'Bye, love you guys' Savannah says

'Bye, we love you too' Amanda says, they kiss and they head to the back, Amanda and Claire heads to the play date
