JUST A LITTLE MORE TIME IS ALL I'M ASKING FOR
The door to his room is propped slightly open as I make my way down the hallway.
'Will?' I knock gently, leaning on the doorframe. All his posters look the same as always; the one thing I can count on is Will's lack of redecoration, even over long periods of time.
'Behind you,' His voice says, and I can hear the smile even before I turn around. There's a certain level of confidence he's gained over the past couple of years. Whether that comes from maturity, or just being constantly in danger, I don't know, though the first option is probably more likely.
It's fair to say we've all done a large amount of changing.
'How much time to we have until the movie?' I ask, taking his outstretched hand. Will grins, pulling me close to his chest. I look up into his hazel eyes, finally experiencing a sense of peace.
'Enough time,' Will says lightly, following as I walk backwards towards his bed.
He leans closer, bringing my lips to his. I smile, my back resting against the wall. His hands find their way around my back, pulling me closer to him.
It seems like it's been a long time since we've had a moment to ourselves.
Hopefully, now that the gate is closed and Mike and El are reunited, there'll be less drama. Maybe we'll have peace and quiet for once.
I overheard Joyce talking to Hopper on the phone about how to give El the talk a couple nights ago. Let's just say, Hopper better do it pretty soon. The way that Mike and El are carrying on-
'Shit,' Will pulls away, glancing at his watch. 'I think we'd better go now-'
I sigh.
'If we get there after Mike, Lucas will never let us hear the end of it,' I say, hopping off the bed. Will smiles gently, kissing the top of my forehead.
'We'll finish this later.'
'I'll hold you to that,' I say with a grin, grabbing his hand.
'Have a good time, guys!' Joyce says from the kitchen with a wave as we pass her.
'Bye Mom-' Will replies at the same time as I say 'Bye Joyce!'
The mall is crowded, as expected. The opening of Starcourt has definitely caused a lot of controversy around the town of Hawkins. Let's just say that store owners are amongst the 'unapprovers' and everyone else fits into the category of 'yay a mall'.
I peer over the tops of people's heads, trying to spot the rest of the party.
'Really? Are we the first ones?' Will frowns, turning his attention back to me.
'Think again, buddy,' Lucas's familiar voice says from behind me. He and Max are standing behind us, hand in hand. Max smirks at the two of us.
'Busy doing something interesting, were you?' she tilts her head to the side.
I roll my eyes. 'Has Mike turned up yet?'
'Nope,' Lucas clicks his tongue loudly. 'He and El are too busy-' insert graphic demonstration.
'Gross, that's my brother,' I say, wrinkling my nose.
'Like you and Will weren't just doing the same thing,' Lucas shoots back, exchanging amused glances with Max.
Will looks at Lucas, then back at me. 'So I was thinking, for the newest DnD campaign, we should-'
'There he is!' Lucas says dramatically, pointing into the dark where a tiny figure on a bike is pedaling towards us.
