COMING FOR YOU, YEAH THEY'RE COMING FOR YOU

The sky begins to cloud over, turning a brighter yet darker shade in the distance. It feels like a storm is coming.

The wind ripples my hair back, and I almost stumble, nearly breaking contact with El.

'What's going on now?' Will's voice asks, sounding foggy in the back of my head.

'There's a storm,' I call, my voice rippling through the air.

'Hey! Billy, stop!' Someone yells, and I can see a man tugging on a boy's arm, just in front of us.

El and I glance at each other. 'What the hell is wrong with you? What did we talk about, huh?' Young Billy looks defiant, but scared. 'You gotta slide!'

'I know.' He says.

'Wait. Afraid you're gonna get hurt, is that it?'

'No,' Billy says.

'Well, what then? What?' The man snaps angrily. 'What did I raise, a pussy for a son?'

'Leave me alone!' Billy shouts, pulling out of his grip and running in the other direction.

'Hey!' Billy's father yells after him, pointing his finger aggressively. 'That's right, run! Like you always do!'

The scene changes to a dinner table.

'Where were you last night?' Billy's father slams a fist down on the table. 'Where were you?'

'I told you, I was with Wendy,' The woman across from him answers evenly.

'Stop lying to me!'

'I'm not lying to you!'

'You saw him again, didn't you?' The man says. 'Didn't you?!' He stands up, advancing on the woman.

'Get away from me!' She cries, backing up.

'I said, get away!'

'You... You whore!' He yells.

'Stop it!' Billy shakes his head, trying to get in between them.

'Bitch!'

'Don't hurt her! No! Don't hurt her! You bastard!'

Tears stream down his face.

'Mom! I don't understand. Why not? Please, Mom, don't do this. Please come home. No. How long? How long? I miss you.'

The words start coming in a scramble, faster and faster until I can hardly keep up.

'Get back here! Get up! What, are you scared to fight me? You scared? Get up and fight me, pussy! Pussy!'

'Billy, come over here, I want you to meet someone. This is your new sister. Her name's Maxine.'

A young Max stands in front of Billy.

'Max.' She corrects.

'Shake her hand.'

'Who's there?'

'I said, shake her hand.'

'I said, who's there?!'

'I think we found it,' I whisper to El, nudging her arm.

'The source.' El points. In front of us, is a clearly abandoned building.

Brimborn Steelworks.

'Where, El? Where are you?' Someone asks.

'Brimborn...Steelworks.' I call.

I can hear them talking in the back of my head.

The storm gets louder.

'That's close. El, Y/N, we found it. Get out of there.' Mike says. 'Get out.'

El takes off her blindfold and I let go of her hand.

When I open my eyes, everyone is gone.

El is no longer beside me.

I'm in the empty cabin, sitting on the floor by myself.

'Eleven?' I call, standing up. 'Will? Max?Mike?'

No one answers.

It's deathly silent.

'Anyone?'

'Y/N.' Someone says from in front of me.

It's Billy.
